Create a user who can only post new post in a particular category or page

Hi all, My requirement is as follows. I need to create a user (subscriber or contributor) which can post new posts only in a selected category or page. that user can only post in that particular page or in the category.
He can perform any action on other pages or categories other than reading them.
Any Idea ? please help..

Hi all,

Is there a way to only show a single or certain category to those logged in to my site?

What I want, is logged in users to be able to see certain car=tegories, just the ones OI want them to post to.

Is that possible?

Basicly I want to have 50 categories.
Users can freely add all their articles only to one of the 50 categories, no matter wich one.
They must not be restricted to such category but they just can post to anyone whenever they want, but it has always have to be one.

I need this simply because I want to show on separate websites all the posts of a given category and I don’t want repeated content…

Is this possible?

I’m interested in allowing registered users to assign an additional category to a post they’re viewing by clicking a link or button.

The category would already exist. There would be no need to choose the specific category to assign (that would be done already). All they need to do is click the button to add the category.

I know this is possible by going to the dashboard and editing the post and assigning a new category. But for my purposes, I would need to stay on the front-end.

Does anyone know how this could be done?

Sorry my english is not great.

I am trying to adjust wordpress to do the following:

When post is created I want it to add itself to whatever category the user selects as well as my default category.

Right now if the user picks a category it only assisgns the post to the select category.

To be clear the category I want everything added to no matter what the user selects for category is a category we have call ALL.

For all posts.

Exclude cat. from home page?

Hi people,

My first post, loving wordpress, been reading, learning and slowly inputting bits for the last couple of days!

I need a spot of help, my website is www.gamebargain.co.uk

If you go there, it takes you to the main page, which shows all blog posts from all my catagories.

I would really like to exclude it from showing the posts from my submit a bargain catagory, as this is the user generated content side of things and they wont adhere to the same templating I am using for my own postings. I want my home page to look nice, so want to restrict the user generated posts to the submit-a-bargain catagory, then if I want to ‘mainpage’ the bargain I will edit it myself.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I’ve been thinking about switching to WordPress from blogger and when I do I want to have the site set up a certain way.

Say for example I am making a site about farm animals and my post categories will be: site updates, chickens, geese, and ducks. However, I only want posts in the ‘site updates’ category to show on the main page. Any posts made in other categories would be accessed by clicking on the link for those categories.

Is this possible? Is there a plugin for such a thing? Could I somehow just edit the main page php file to show only a selected category?

Hello,

I’ve been looking around for some sort of widget or hack that will let me remove exclude certain categories from certain pages. But I haven’t found anything useful.

Some help would be appreciated.
I’m currently using Advanced Category Excluder, but that widget doesn’t have the ability to hide from pages at all
