rewrite rules for the robots.txt file

Hi forum.

I have purchased a plugin AIOSEO. And when I try to enable the robot text section I’m getting this message:

It looks like you are missing the proper rewrite rules for the robots.txt file. It appears that your server is running on Apache, so the fix should be as simple as checking the correct .htaccess implementation on www.ads-software.com.

So its redirecting me to this link: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/htaccess/

I’m confused what to add in the robot text section so the AIOSEO doesn’t take it as incorrect SEO.

I have an issue with 16 archive post urls marked ‘noindex’. No other ulrs, only all the archives.

I don’t believe this is an issue with the site map. I use XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 4.1.0

I also don’t think this is a robots text issue. Please see below:

Allow: /wp-content/uploads/
Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/
Disallow: /wp-admin/

Rather, I believe that something, maybe since an update, is putting a “noindex” into the header of only the archive pages:

I have double and triple checked all settings.

I use Yoast SEO.

I have looked through the theme php files and cannot find it, but I’m also not a developer.

The theme is Twenty Fourteen.

Home Page Not Indexed?

Hello,
I have a big problem with my site home page not set up for Google.

I checked home page with Yoast from the admin and it says site is indexed, however Google console and Ryte are saying that the page is not indexed?

I checked the header of the page and sure enough I found this piece of code:

I have checked Yoast settings, and everything seems to be in order, Try as I might I can’t get rid of this!

Any help most appreciated.

Search Engine Visibility Zero Robot text

I have a website hosted on bluehost, it is 4 years old. In September I ticked the box – search engine visibility off. I changed a few things and then a month later in October I unchecked the box. According to the access log, there has been traffic up until I unchecked the box, until October. Something happened a glitch. Now the website cannot be found, the only way I can go to it is by typing it into the address bar directly. Because the website is 4 years old I had always been listed in Google or Bing, had quite a few photos in image search as well, they all disappeared and all traffic ceased when I turned search engine visibility back on. I tried to put a google validation code from the search console into the header.php, maybe it is the wrong place, but google cannot validate server unavailable is the message – website remains hidden. Bing message – robot text prevents crawling of the site – but now even this message disappeared. Search engine visibility is Zero. Something is very wrong, I read and followed previous threads, don’t have any idea what is supposed to be in the robot.txt file.

currently it is this:

On my site google adsense doese not dipays on first page or categories but it displays on pages. In my robot tex I have only this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
google adsense tell me that the robot text fil is not correct!
Please help

Hello Everyone,
I require your assistance with robot text downloads in C/Panel.I use W/P on 2 sites my 1st site does not have,but in the 2nd it has robot text downloads.
I use the same theme (Weaver) in both,I posted on Weaver forum,and the administrator said it was not a weaver issue instead W/P settings.

I have read a couple of previous threads in this thread it says

BTW, if you have one, a robots.txt is found in the root level of your domain. Search engines will ignore a robots.txt placed anywhere else.

If it is in the root level of the domain how do you activate ?.
On the site I want to activate on,always has 100’s of file not found in C/Panel error document not found.
