Orientation of many images

I have created a form for a client and updated it to Enterprise Extension 2. When I was testing it and uploading files, everything was fine. However, when the client uploads a simple image using an iPhone 11 (resolution: 3024×4032), it gets rotated 90 degrees to the left. The same issue occurred with another image upload from the client’s phone rather than a direct camera upload.

I assumed it was the width and height I set, so I corrected them to match the ratio of the resolution above, but it didn’t help.

This behavior is inconsistent, as many photos upload normally, so I can’t just rotate all images 90 degrees to the right. I read somewhere that sometimes EXIF data is read incorrectly before mapping. I’m not entirely sure what that is. Since this is going to a production environment, Help would be much appreciated.

Big images thumbnails rotating

Big images that are being sized down by wordpress rotate in the thumbnail. In the gallery they aren’t rotated.

I found a fix in another support thread with a plugin called RT based on edited image. This sadly did not work. Any help would be appreciated.

my title says all: If i Convert Images to webp Most Pictures in lightboxes are rotated. If i deactivate the Plugin everything works fine with jpg.

First off:
I’m very happy with your PhotoGallery plug-in, very grateful for the development of it! Thanks a lot for bringing it out!

My current issue:
Lately I have seen certain thumbnails incorrectly rotated.
These used to be rotated correctly.
When I click on these thumbnails, the full screen picture does show the correct rotation.
With their incorrect rotation, they also look stretched out or not in proper ratio.

What I have tried:
I have both tried the ‘recreate’ button as updating the plug-in.
After pressing the recreate button it gives me a processing icon, which took quite long and I honestly haven’t waited for it to finish, because I wonder if it will, due to the amount of pictures I have (thousands).

What is your recommendation in this to resolve this?

How to delete EXIF data from images on ftp server

Hi, I got a few 10000 images on my wordpress website. Uploaded from 2012 to now. For some reason, some of the images are 90 deg rotated. It looks like they have EXIF data and some of them don’t (the ones with EXIF data were uploaded with windows, the ones without with a mac).

My question is: Is there a way to bulk delete EXIF data from images that are already uploaded? I got access through my ftp client.

Portrait orientation in EXIF

Hi!
Portrait images became landscape when haven’t been modified by any photo editor, which could reset orientation info.
If EXIF exists it causes wrong flipping at some camera producers (mobile phones or regular cameras).
For example this issue occurs when images come from Samsung (tested: J5, S4, S20), iPhone (tested: 6s, 7), Sony, Panasonic.
Images are OK when Canon, Nokia, Xiaomi, Huawei, HTC…

Images rotated sideways

Recently I have noticed that my images are being rotated 90 degrees in my posts. The image appears in the right orientation on the computer, phone (where it was taken) and when you click on the image and view it.

In the post however, it’s rotated 90 degrees to the left.

This is extremely irritating. Is there a setting hiding somewhere that was enabled by an upgrade?

NextGen WP 4.4 make my thumbnails rotated

I’m facing a weird behaviour with WP 4.4 and NextGen. When create a gallery, my thumbnails are now upside down. I checked the options to find this kind of functionnality, but I didn’t find anything.

Does someone has the same problem and why not would have a solution ?

Unexpectedly rotated images

Sometimes, uploaded photo’s that were made as portrait photo’s and later used as landscape, so rotated 90o, will show up in portrait again, or the other way around, or upside down.

When they are turned 90o into portrait form, they are cut out like they were in landscape, resulting in a chopped up image.

I’m not sure 100% what happend since I didn’t upload them myself.

Curiously, on most browsers these photo’s are shown OK, but on iPhone and iPads they sometimes are turned.

Unfortunately I can’t show any examples now, since I only found this support page after I already fixed all images and deleted all chopped up ones.

Edit: I have one example image although this is not a real example because it is upside down in all browsers now.

Edit: I’m almost sure they are photo’s, made with a camera that doesn’t add info to the photo about what side is up. When the image is put on a (windows) computer, it is manually turned until it looks good, but somehow this information is stored in a way, that not all browsers / iOS browsers pick up.

I am seeing an issue where my post looks fine when viewed in Desktop mode, but when viewing on mobile with WPTouch Pro, some of the images appear rotated. How do I fix this?
