Colorado Tax Rate Being Applied

Hello we are located in Florida but currently Woocommerce is charging our customers from Colorado sales tax. I have tried removing all the rows under Standard Rates, but tax still gets calculated for Colorado. I have also created a new row under Standard Rates that is for all CO with a tax rate of 0% manually. When TaxJar responds back with the 9% tax rate it then overwrites the 0% that I manually setup and then charges the customer Sales Tax. What can I do to ensure that the only state we are charging sales tax is Florida? Thank you

no sales tax charged when typo in city or zip code

All the sales tax codes are entered correctly but if customer makes a typo on entering the city name or zip code the system will not charge sales tax and processes the order.

The system should prompt to fix the issue if it does not match the tax codes entered in the system and not process the order.

Is there a fix?

Is this an issue with my theme?

Or this is the way wp works?

State Sales Tax not being applied

I am working on a WooCommerce store with the Storefront theme, and am using the built in Sales Tax functionality. I only need to charge state sales tax if the shipping address is for Massachusetts (USA), which I have set up as 6.25%. For a while, this was working fine, but when getting back to development a few months ago, the tax is no longer being calculated. It comes up as $0.00 for Massachusetts.

I have set up the WooCommerce/Settings/Tax and enabled tax for the County US and State MA and all other setting appear to be correct. There is no other Tax plugin that I am aware of.

Anyone have any insight?

Sales Tax by Location

Looking at the documentation it seems it is only possible to add a set global sales tax or a set sales tax on a product. In the US tax is collected on shipping location and depending on your stores point of presence. Tax percentages are added together

City Tax (Collected if shipping address is in the same city)
County Tax (Collected if shipping address is in the same county)
State Tax (Collected if shipping address is in the same state)
None (If the shipping address is out of state. Other states usually don’t require collection of sales tax unless store sales to that state are above a certain dollar amount)

Is is possible to setup sales tax for these requirements in the plugin, or is it possible to have PayPal calculate and return the sales tax?

We got this plug in because we needed to have the override shipping portion of the coupons, which we only found it here. It works as intended, except that it does not have a way to override shipping just on the products the coupon applies for. This is a complicated issue due to WooCommerce functionality, but it could be addressed by passing the shipping overrides to just the items it applies to by splitting the cart contents.

For now, it works with some twitching we made it work to have a limit on the shipping override discount, not perfect but better than nothing.

The other thing we were confused about, which we thought it did, was to do product selection for the items that coupon applies to. They do have rules but the rules (which are great) only apply if the product selection is done at the coupon level.

We have about 2000 products that have coupons, so loading them into the coupons and maintaining them it’s a nightmare, it will be great if the product selection can be done the same way rules are done by dynamic selection.

Sales Tax Showing 0%

I am using WooCommerce and set up sales tax in the sales tax area. I made sure the state was correct (Florida) and checked the box that says “enable tax”. I also checked all my products and they all say to charge tax. One of my clients is having the same issue on their site. I don’t use the WooCommerce tax plugin because I didn’t see the need. We have a 7% tax, which was easy to set up. I have scoured the forums and Google, and can’t find anyone with the same issue.

Hello, Our shop collects sales tax in one U.S. State. The state’s cities and zipcodes are imported. Problem is occurring if a customer mistypes a city name or uses an abbreviation (“PK” instead of “Park” for instance.) Is it possible to have the tax be based on the Zip Code field only?

FYI – we are not using the automated services.
