Firstly thank you for this great plugin I can’t wait to be able to actually collect data from it.
okay here is my issue. I think I might be misunderstanding (obviously).

None of this explains how to actually add your data to the datalayer. I understand I need to add some things because it’s your plugin. However here is where I become lost. What am i adding and how? I saw/read all the other posts here and saw that you have an outdated tutorial you were planning on updating.

Okay let’s do it this way:
1) I see this as one of the items in my GTM summary.
‘gtm4wp.reading.contentBottom’

2) So I created and named the User Defined Variable – DuracellTomi Attempt 1
Type= Data Layer Variable

3) Okay, it’s not firing anything in GTM when i scroll to the bottom or in GA and I’m not sure what I need to do to make it do this. You added options and just no way for me to understand how to make them do anything. I knwo this has some serious power. I have looked at everything googled for help and im simply lost here.

Literally all i need you to do is show me what the step i am missing is.

I can make variables and tags and I just need to know what tags, triggers and variable to add and how to make it fire when someone scrolls to the bottom of the page. I show the tag in the preview… its nto firing. Whats my trigger and variable? You do that and I will write the detailed version of how to do it for your website for you so we can alleviate the need for this question to be asked again.

A problem implementing jQuery plugin “Scroll Depth” through Google Tag Manager.

I have been experimenting a problem when trying to implement the jQuery plugin “Scroll Depth” through Google Tag Manager.

My context is as follows:
– Tags implemented in my web through Google Tag Manager.
– My web is a wordpress site.
– “Scroll Depth” plugin version: 1.0
– “Use Google Libraries” WP plugin (Allows your site to use common javascript libraries from Google’s AJAX Libraries CDN, rather than from WordPress’s own copies).

Description of the problem:

– The “Scroll Depth” tag (customized HTML tag) fires OK (checked through Google Tag Manager “Preview and Debug”).
– At the left side of the screen (in the Summary): “ScrollDistance” event is not present when I scroll down the webpage (25%, 50%, etc.).

Conclusion: maybe the tag is fired OK but the script is not working?

Is there anything different in the plugin implemention process or in the plugin script considering that my web is a wordpress site?

I have tried older versions of the plugin “WP Scroll Depth”: version 0.4 and version 0.5. Using these old versions I was able to see the “ScrollDistance” event in GTM “Preview and Debug” at the left side of the screen (Summary) when I scroll down the webpage. I also can see the corresponding Data Layer with the values for eventLabel (25%, 50%, etc.). And I can see the variables too with their values.

I tried plugin version 0.9. It didn’t work.

So: versions 0.4 and 0.5 OK; versions 0.9 and 1.0 don’t work.

Please could you help me about the problem explained above implementing “Scroll Depth” plugin? Is it anything related to jQuery or WordPress or the theme OnePress?

Events don't show up in GA

Hi!

We successfully installed the plugin. The code is also added on our website and no errors were found in the browser debugger. However, the events do not show up in GA.

According to the project page on GitHub the code should be installed under the GA code. On our website, the GA code is installed at the bottom of the body, while the scroll depth code is in the head area.

Might this cause a problem?

Scroll Depth (GA Plugin) incompatibility caused by zerif.js

I have been looking to implement Scroll Depth which is a Google Analytics plugin that will track how far a visitor scrolls on any given page. Scroll Depth has also been implemented in a WordPress plugin, WP Scroll Depth.

However, line 249 in /js/zerif.js seems to break some fundamental functionality in Scroll Depth:

jQuery(window).on('scroll',scrolled);

Scroll Depth will fire one event when the user scrolls down, but never more than once. It may say that a visitor has scrolled down to 25 % but will never track further progress until a browser refresh.

This is solved by deleting the code on line 249.

Since I do not know which side effects this could have, I am looking for a more permanent solution. Could you help out getting Scroll Depth to work properly with Zerif Lite?

Where to find the events in GA

Scroll Depth does'nt work with my website

Hi I installed scroll depth.
It’s in the Head section of my website after the google analytics plugin. When I try to go to events in google analytics nothing shows (even though i did some tests by scrolling away!) but when I go to the javascript console there’s an error message: “Uncaught TypeError: Array.prototype.push called on null or undefined”
