Order Selected Posts

How can order my selected posts? They don’t seam to follow any order, they don’t seam to be ordered by creation date, Alphabetic order?
Is there a way to specify in which order you want them to be shown?

What we want

Interstitial #A – Displays sitewide (does not display on ONE category)
Interstitial #B – Displays only on ONE selected category

We Red Dot the Home page and all posts, Black dot the selected category for #A
We Red Dot the selected category, tags, cat id for #B

It doesn’t display #B on the selected category and it DOES displays the #A on the post. Total opposite of what we want. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Also is there a difference between using OR & AND?

How do I stop the featured image/video showing in post (only on selected posts).

I want to stop the featured image or video only on selected posts, and not on all posts. This is because on some posts, I would like to past the vido or image at the end of the post, rather than the beginning, but I still want the image to appear on the homepage.

Have searched threads and only found solutions on how to change code for all posts, rather than selected posts.

I am using presso theme.

I want to use the box only on a few posts, but when I choose “none” (place to publish) in the configuration and then I’m placing this in a post:

[sexy_author_bio]

nothing happens.

Is it possible to active the box only for selected posts?

Copy selected posts WITH comments to new domain?

Does anyone know of a plugin or otherwise that would do this?

Copy SELECTED content from one existing live WordPress site on Domain X to another separate WordPress site on Domain Y?

The content would be specific page and post content WITH the associated comments attached to posts. The comments part is where I have come unstuck before – I’ve had them imported separately and been matched to the wrong posts, imported just as text not “real” comments and other assorted headaches. The existing site has maybe 1000 posts and I want to hand pick only certain ones and get them across to the new site as cleanly as possible.

The old site will eventually be deleted so all links and images should reflect this.

No need to copy anything else, plugins etc as all this will be fresh and new. The priority is the pages, post and the comments.

Seeking widget to display recent and/or favorite posts

I have created a 2-column WP blog; not yet live/active because I’m still adding content and also because there’s a function I would like to add, as follows. My posts will appear in the left-side column. The right side column is called Recent Popular Posts. There are many WP widgets available for this feature. Most of them seem configured to display (automatically) a given number (x) of the most recent posts. That’s not what I want, because it would simply duplicate the x-number of posts my left column. No, what I want is a widget that will allow me to select which of all my posts will appear in my Recent Popular Posts column. For instance, say I write and post 5 blogs, with these titles: One, Two, Three, Four, Five. Say I want Three and Five to appear as the newest posts in my Recent Popular Posts column. OK, so, I need a widget (or plug-in, etc.) that will enable me, say, to check a box on posts Three and Five that causes those posts to appear in Recent Popular Posts. (Note: the widget needs to be customizable so I can choose, say, the title + first line or two of post + thumbnail — rather than having the entire texts of Three and Five appear in Recent Popular Posts.) Later, if I want to remove those posts from Recent Popular Posts, I would be able to simply unselect them, and also able to select other of my posts to go into Recent Popular Posts. Any ideas?

Hi,

I have a BigCommerce-based site with WordPress on a subdomain, and I’d like to be able to get selected posts from WP to display on the BC homepage along with a thumbnail photo. Does anyone know the best way to go about doing this? I thought I had found a few plugins that would work while searching through other questions, but I’m not sure if those solutions will work on non-WP pages.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Is there some plugins or an idea how to change dates of selected posts? I know that there is an Edit of WP (Bulk Actions) but without changing of dates.

I am starting a new membership site where most of the posts are protected content and they will NOT be sent out via a feed (I haven’t even burned the feed yet). However, I would still like to have some selected posts (all under the category “News”) go out via RSS to stream on my social networks and to my subscribers. Is there a way to do this?

Also… I just upgraded to 2.9 on a couple of my sites and now I am reading on many of these posts that that might not have been such a good move. Hope the feed works if/when I set it up.

Is there a simple php command to show a list of selected posts by their IDs? For example, here I hand-coded the list, but modifying it is more work than just changing IDs.
I did give a forum search, all I came up with is this unresolved thread from 4 months ago.
