I have a WP site that I host for a client, I did not build this site a third party did. I do not have access to the admin area (could possibly get access).
I am trying to move this site from one Server2008 running IIS7 to another Server2008 running IIS7. The reason being the new server has a higher spec and the old one will be decommissioned.
I have successfully moved the non CMS PHP/HTML sites and tested them using https://192.168.0.1/sitename I also host a few Joomla! sites that have been migrated successfully. This leads me to believe the MySQL & PHP settings are correct. The php.ini was actually copied across so the setting are exactly as they were on the old server.
When I move the WP site I am getting a 500 error, when I rename the web.config file to web.config.old I get a 404 error. I can’t for the life of me work out why this is. I thought it might regenerate the web.config file and resolve the issue but this is not the case.
Has anyone out there had previous experience with migrating from IIS to IIS? Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Olly Edwards
]]>I’m a system admin and support a few sites including a wordpress site on a shared server.
Basically, what’s happening is when I try to make a new post in wordpress, I get a 403 Forbidden: Access Denied error message.
When I try to do this from inside the web server, I get a wordpress page that says “Are you sure you want to do this?” with a link that says “Please try again”
I’m at a loss. Only one module is installed and tried deactivating it with no results. I see tons of people saying to turn off “Mod_Security” but this is a windows server, so I can’t do that. There is no Mod_Security.
I’ve double checked the wp-config.php file, reset the MySQL DB password to the same password, made sure fastcgi is enabled, restarted the webserver, IIS, made sure the application pool will support 32bit apps, turned off validaterequest in the web.config. Nothing has worked so far and I am at a loss.
ANY help would be much appreciated.
Here are the server specs:
Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit
IIS7 webserver
PHP 5.3
MySQL 5.5
Thanks!
]]>Here’s my problem. When I add a 2nd site “localhost/wordpress/fcs” it completes without errors but it doesn’t create any folders/files on the iiS server. I’ve googled the He double LL out of the internet and this site but can’t find what I’m obviously missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
]]>I’m running a test box with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2. I have installed PHP 5.3.2, mySQL 5.5.7-rc via TCPIP and WordPress 3.0.1.
I followed the steps from online MS technet tutorials and I had no problems with any of the insatllations. My problem is this. When I run https://localhost/index.php and https://localhost/wp-admin/ everything is as it should be . When I access the site from the web https://wwww.coteassociates.com/index.php I receive the page as if it where displayed in text format and when I try to log into site admin I get an error saying the browser can not display the page. I am new to Windows Server 2008 — I have been using and servicing Server 2003 insatllations — and I am
using this test box to learn on before implementing any server upgrades for my clients.
Any help in resolving this issue would be deeply appreciated.
404 – File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Gracias
]]>I am running a server at home for learning purposes. So today I installed WordPress on server 2008 R2 IIS 7.5
It installed perfectly fine, until i went to settings and there was an option of redirect. My URL was SamChrisNetwork.info/wordpress but I wanted to change that to SamChrisNetwork.info only. So I did that and now all the links are broken. Every time I try to go to SamChrisNetwork.info/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php or any link with …/wordpress/… it goes back to my SamChrisNetwork.info/… but it is unable to find the directory.
So my question is whether there is a way to take off Redirect and if not how do i drop the tables in SQL, i have MySQL as well as SQl server 2008 r2, but I am not sure which one is wordpress using and what are the table names to drop. I am familiar with oracle SQL, but not MYSQL or SQL server 2008 r2
Thanks for your help in advance
]]>My problem is that the blog will frequently go down and present a 500 error. If I log into the server and restart the application pool, everything comes back up immediately.
Any ideas on how to stop it from going down?
