My site has 100+ pages and growing. Last week, during a plugin update, something crashed. After a week, I am getting it back, but the Theme will now no longer load. The Theme (Phlox) had a setting to turn off sidebars. Now, No theme that I load picks up settings and the sidebar is there, on every page.

What a pain in the behind. It seems that many people have problems with sidebar issues. Sure, I found fixes, but change themes and what do you get. Or reload the theme and lose the changes you made. Even if some Theme creator makes a way of doing it, it does not carry over.

This is BASIC TO WP. It SHOULD be built into the framework so that it is Theme independent. If not, we need a good PLUGIN. I saw one plugin that can create multiple side bars and then have those replace the default on assigned pages. But, it didn’t allow you to remove the original.

Of course, that is coming from someone who knows nothing about WP Coding.

So, for now, how about a good plugin?

I’m pretty new to WP, so you veterans can come up with a good list of desired features. For me, on this specific site, I would like to turn off side bars EASILY on all but one page, not the home page and have the remaining content width adjust properly.

It appears, whenever I trie to make a new page, there is a sidebar, even though I think I’ve tried everything in “Customise”. The sidebar is blank now, because I’ve removed all widgets, but there is an ugly empty space there:

1. My ideal situation would be to have the results appear on a page rather than a post. Second best would be a post (as it is now) WITHOUT a side bar or a comment capability.

This plugin works great,the single-product.php ,archive-product.php and taxanomy.php does the work,but I need for code for the other pages too,for eg https://testserveren.com/riksmalsforbundet/butikk/
I need to remove the sidebar and make it full width on cart and checkout page,can somebody share the code of these two pages.
I think it should be cart.php and form-chekout.php which controls these two pages,somebody who has genesis connect of these two pages please share… if someone has of other pages too will be really great.

Hi there,

I’m pretty new to WP, about a week or so into exploring this platform.

1. I’m struggling with trying to configure wp such that certain pages will not show the sidebar and the main-content area will increase.
I’ve figured/found out how to disable the sidebar on certain pages but I don’t understand how to increase the main-content area.
2. The second issue I’m having regards easy fancybox. I’ve succesfully integrated the plugin into wp. The issue lies with the layout of the gallery, it seems as if it’s layout is sporadic at best, i’ve set properties in the ‘visual editor’ to the number of (4 colsX3 rows) columns i want, but some rows are left half empty.
Any help will be appreciated.

Removing Sidebar Items (Hello Sexy Theme)

Using WP v3.3.1 with Hello Sexy theme. My question has to do with the sidebar items. Currently I have Pages, Archives, Categories, Blogroll and Meta. I do not want Archives, Categories, Blogroll to display, just Pages and Meta. I can’t, for the life of me, see where I can turn this on or off in the settings. I don’t want to delete them entirely because I may want to bring them back in the future, just remove them so they don’t appear in my sidebar.

Any clues my new friends?
