The problem is this, I don’t have a backup of my website to restore from, and while I do have a copy of my RSS feed as an XML file, I’m not sure how to start my website up again and get my pre-existing RSS feed in place so that our fans can get to all of the old episodes with their original posting dates, etc.
Is there a way to restore the RSS feed manually? Am I making this too hard?
I was using PowerPress before and intend to continue doing so, but considering the lapse in hosting I’m confused as to how to proceed. Any help would be very much appreciated.
My site (still not set up at all due to not knowing how to proceed with the RSS feed) is https://fifthagepodcast.com
The media is hosted here:

I can also post a copy of my RSS feed if that’s useful.
Thanks,
Dan

It is an e-commerce site and is no longer allowing variable products to be added to the cart. i am receiving an error message that says “Please choose product options…” i have no idea how to fix this.
Has anyone experienced this and can help me please.

]]>My website database was damaged by a freelancer I hired and we were not able to fix it.
So I did the followings to get my site back online as quick as possible :
1. In my hosting account (BlueHost), I unassigned my domain name (an addon domain) to its current directory. At this point the site is not even on the internet at all.
2. I assigned my domain to a new directory in my hosting account. Both directories (the old and the new) are at the same level, directly in the root of my hosting account.
3. I installed a new wordpress site on the domain. Meaning I’m now using a new database.
4. I uploaded my site backups that I had created with the plugin “UpdraftPlus Backup and Restoration” BEFORE any damaged were done to the site and restored it. Note: the backup included everything (database, images, plugins, themes, etc).
It works almost perfectly.
The only issues I have is that some plugins seem to still be getting stuff from the old directory and this is causing issues with images. For example I’m unable to upload new pictures on my site now.
Why is this happening? Any idea what additionnal steps I need to take?
Thanks in advance for your help!
]]>Hopefully someone here can help…
I have had a WordPress based ecommerce site, and because of problems with my previous host, I have moved my hosting over to Godaddy. At the time of setting up hosting with Godaddy, my site was not accessible on my old host because a WordPress plugin had corrupted my database. I had asked the old host to restore, but 10 days later it was still down, thus the decision to relocate host. I have a full site backup (36mb)from my old host that I made using Cpanel. This is a complete backup not only the WordPress database. How can I restore this site onto the new server at Godaddy? So far I have installed WordPress on my Godaddy host and have restored the mySQL database which was included in the full site backup. This partially brings my site back but does not restore full functionality including my product database and graphics. I do not have Cpanel on Godaddy.
Any words of wisdom?

]]>I deleted the old wp directories on my host and tried using the cpanel’s option to restore from backups, but after loading them via the web interface, I still have no access to my site. Both the main page and the wp-admin login page show the following.
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/ on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here. I tried creating a new database user and deleting the old one in the MySQL cpanel interface and changed the info in the wp-config file in the main directory but that didn’t do anything. I’m honestly not even close to sure of what I should be doing differently to restore from these backups and websearches only seem to show me how to re-install my database, which wasn’t something I couldn’t figure out on my own.
Can someone out there please give me an assist or at least point me in the right direction? It’s been two days now and I’m beyond frustrated with not being able to figure this out. Also, please keep in mind that I’m pretty php illiterate. Some basic HTML is about the extent of my programming knowledge.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I’m at wit’s end here.
]]>So, I deleted the files on my webhost’s server and re-installed from my backups. After it finally finished re-installing, now I get the following:
“Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/ on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”
I get this message when I try to access either the site itself or the dashboard log-in.
I know the chances are high that there’s just something dumb I haven’t done to get this to work but I have no idea. I’ve spent all day fighting this and I’m just rather frazzled. Can someone help with what the problem might be?
