SEO Dashboard Smartcrawl is not loading

I started using your Smartcrawl plugin for WordPress recently but as soon as I try to look at the SEO health dashboard, I see the message ‘Something went wrong. Please contact support.’

Could someone tell me what is happening and if this problem can be fixed?

Whitelist Background Request

I have some trouble getting Wordfence to allow a Background Request, it does ask if I want to whitelist it but if I say yes and try again it is still blocked.

More specific I try to use the plugin SmartCrawl by wpmudev, but word fence blocks the “save changes” and dosen’t seem to stop blocking it when whitelisting it

Incompatibility with SmartCrawl

I recently discovered that the Duo Two-Factor Authentication plugin causes frequent logouts when used with the SmartCrawl plugin. Since I had only recently started using SmartCrawl, I assumed that the problem was with that plugin and reported it as such. The SmartCrawl devs pointed out that the Duo plugin hasn’t been updated in over two years, and has not been tested with the last three versions of WordPress.

So I’m reporting the problem here, although it looks likely that Cisco will kill Duo, so I’m not hopeful. In the meantime, I’m looking at alternatives for 2FA, such as the miniOrange plugin, which is compatible with Duo: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/miniorange-2-factor-authentication/

I just noticed that the FAQ page for this plugin says “Some WordPress plugins cause authentication issues when used in conjunction with Duo for WordPress. We recommend disabling any other plugins that appear to be causing an issue, to allow authentications to function successfully.” Sorry, nope.

Focus keyword wont show

Sitemap Flashes on Safari with SmartCrawl Activated

So this issue of the sitemap flashing before the page loads only seems to happen on Safari, mostly on the Industries pages but I did notice this on a few of the Services pages as well. This is occurring on stiverengineering.com, and during my troubleshooting I have discovered this issue stops when the SmartCrawl plugin is deactivated.

I created a clone of the site on https://test.stiverengineering.com/ to troubleshoot this. I first attempted to update any plugin that I could update, including SmartCrawl but the issue persisted. (WordPress core version and theme were already up-to-date)

I then began deactivating plugins one by one to see if a plugin could be causing an issue. When SmartCrawl is deactivated, the issue stops. Which you can see currently on test.stiverengineering.com which does not flash the sitemap, in comparison to the live stiverengineering.com site, which still currently flashes the sitemap on Safari.

I found that there was a sitemap troubleshooting tool in SmartCrawl, so I reactivated to use the tool. The tool provided this message:

You have another sitemap plugin conflicting with SmartCrawl’s sitemap post-sitemap1.xml. Please deactivate the conflicting plugin and try again.

I noted that the site also has Rank Math SEO installed. Not entirely sure why there are 2 SEO plugins installed on the site, but I did not develop this site. I went ahead and deactivated Rank Math SEO, while keeping SmartCrawl activated, but the sitemap flash issue persists. I used the the sitemap troubleshooting tool again, and this time I got an unknown error:

We found an issue with your sitemap post-sitemap1.xml, but unfortunately, we couldn’t fix it. Please contact our support.

I have since reactivated Rank Math, and deactivated SmartCrawl on test.stiverengineering.com so you can see how it loads that way.

The live stiverengineering.com site currently has SmartCrawl activated and Rank Math deactivated.

I was just wondering if your support team has any recommendations. The website uses The7 theme, and was built with Elementor. It’s also using PHP 7.4, if that helps at all.

Cannot migrate from Smartcrawl to Yoast

Im trying to migrate from Smartcrawl to Yoast, following the guide provided from Yoast, but nothing happens when I try to import the Smartcrawl settings.
I’m actually wanting to use Rank Math, but the as I understand they do not have the option to import directly from Smartcrawl?

How did you migrate from Smartcrawl to Yoast or even better, directly to Rank Math?

WPMU SmartCrawl Sitemap Conflict

Thank you for an awesome tool. Have the free version running on 3 wordpress/woocommerce sites, works well.

Recently redeveloped one of the sites, and since enabling the Asset Cleanup plugin, receiving a plugin conflict message from WPMU SmartCrawl plugin. All three sites run the same set of tools from WPMU and Asset CleanUp, no idea where to start looking for the issue? when I disable Asset CleanUP, SmartCrawl is happy.

I have been testing smartcrawl SEO for my wordpress site and the metabox is bugged when I use the classic editor. This only works with the gutenberg editor
