The idea is that the Saved Template can be used on different pages with the advantage that changes to the template will be reflected on those pages

Not working for me but I suspect that I am either doing something wrong or the plugin will not work with Saved Templates

Adding custom site header and footer

Hi! I’m pretty competent in HTML, but only know a tiny little bit of PHP. I really like the WordPress software and have seen quite a few sites where it is incorporated really well within the site.

Here’s what’s up. I am using the Unicorn theme (a child theme of Jolene): https://www.trumpipedia.com/blog. Customization seems to be going pretty good. But I have a header and footer (via SSI) on each and every page on the site. For example, https://www.trumpipedia.com/resources/glossary.

I would REALLY like to be able to incorporate my site’s header and footer into the blog. That way the blog appears in between the header and footer, and the blog looks like is in integrated within my site.

I have been through a TON of threads here… spent the last several hours reading posts and trying to incorporate them but it’s no use. Right now I have the site header here: https://www.trumpipedia.com/includes/header.htm and the footer here: https://www.trumpipedia.com/includes/footer.htm.

All I need is to be able to add the header to the top of the page and the footer to the bottom. They everything would be PERFECT! Can ANYBODY help!? Thanks!

htaccess changes applied by W3TC – one time only?

W3 Total Cache changes the htaccess file.
Will these changes be re-applied after I manually edit my htaccess file?
Meaning: if I correct things which don’t work for me, will these manual corrections be overwritten by W3TC at any time later on?

My site is in 2 parts: current blog under WP, archive pages are html with server side includes, which are disabled by the htaccess changes applied by W3TC, so I would have to delete some of W3TC lines from my htaccess manually in order to keep the ssi active.

This is getting rather URGENT! I still haven’t activated W3TC because last time it messed up my non-WordPress archive. A reply to my previous question (4 months ago) is still outstanding (meaning no hope I get one)…

Need Help w. Falcon Cache and SSI (and exceptions)

Situation: I have an existing site, written in 2005 using “server side includes (=ssi)” for footer text and the menu. The old shtml-pages are sitting, as an archive, in my root directory alongside a recently added WordPress site. I just installed WordFence.

Problem when I installed W3 Total Cache a while ago it “broke” my “server side includes”. All pages using ssi are saved with shtml-extensions (as html didn’t necessarily support this back in 2005), all includes are saved in txt-format (site s using external style sheets, so formatting is done thru them).
Can I assume that your Falcon cache will not affect the SSIs, providing I set caching exception rules for shtml and txt files? This should then possibly cache html and php files, only leave the old shtml pages with SSI un-cached.

Currently I’m running NO CACHE = not the best situation… I’m a full-time traveler, my internet access is very limited and always via mobile, hence testing is also limited (unfortunately).
But my server runs GZIP compression.

Sizing & Padding incorrect

I’ve tried to find the css that is restricting the SSI sizes, to no avail. I’ve tried to use the CSS mentioned in other support posts, to no avail. I am only using the SSI in one location, so no conflict with secondary SSI. Please identify the line height or px that needs to be removed at www.candlequeencandles.com .
I’ve moved the SSI widget to other areas to see if it changes- nope. I have the size at 40px with no border-no change.

Genesis child theme used on site.

W3TC breaks my SSI (server side includes) – what to do?

When I activated W3TC it disabled via htaccess-additions all my ssi for the old files! Hence my menu (added via ssi) didn’t show anymore.

Since I don’t understand all the htaccess code (only some) I would need some help re which lines to take out!

My ‘server side includes’ do not function anymore!

Short explanation: I installed and used this plugin first time yesterday, when I changed themes on an active website. The site also has 200+ old pages, which are not running on WordPress; on all these pages I’m using server side includes to display the menu and footer on each page. Both are not showing anymore (roughly for period since I activated the plugin – my check: no more hits to archive pages, counter code is part of footer.txt). What I used is simple code like this , which worked well for almost 9 years…
This is just a suspicion. I briefly changed themes back to old one, which doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Custom Fields to display via SSI a html page

Hi, I am working on this site, I am trying to make a Custom Fields that will display a html page living on the same server via SSI.

Is it possible to add Custom Field that I can input the web address to this page. I got about 30 other pages to connect, I figure this is the easiest way to incorporate that page and repeat the process without making a custom page.

Any ideas?
