Widgets not showing on a static homepage

When I’m using static homepage on a site with a Poseidon theme, it doesn’t show widgets that I put in a “Magazine Homepage”. If I switch to “latest posts” widgets display properly. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Hello there!

I created a custom homepage for a new website, which is mostly based on custom html/css code. It works flawlessly as a normal page and is displayed correctly both in the preview and as a normal site. The theme is twenty-sixteen.

The weird stuff happens as soon as I try to set the page as my homepage. When I try to choose the site as my starter page (via Settings -> Reading -> Static Page), the page disappears and the custom blank blog page provided by WordPress is displayed.

I copied the page and gave it a different name for tests, whenever I switch the main page, the homepage transforms into this blank blog-pattern. You can check both pages here:

Static homepage settled but default page showing

Hello !

I hope this topic is on the right place, sorry if not!

I’ve been searching for days, found many topics but couldn’t really solve my problem. Here it is :
I use NEVE theme on WordPress and would like to display a static homepage for my website. It is possible to custom it directly from the theme (Appearance>Customize>Home Page>Static Homepage) or from wordpress Settings > Reading > Static Homepage.
I applied this settings.

The thing is that the preview mode works perfectly but as long as I visit the website, either inconito mode or not, the homepage goes as “example page” : [ redundant link removed ] (a page that does not even exist in my “Pages”). If I click on the menu > Page d’exemple then the website appears, but the homepage still doesn’t work as exepted.

– I try deactivate the plugin to see if one was messing with the theme but it didn’t change anything.
– I try to swich the static page to another one, didn’t work as well.

If anyone have an idea or already faced this problem : thank you very much for your help !

Even if in the settings, reading, I’ve set as home page a static page, my home page doesn’t show up.

(somehow it seems I can’t upload images and if I put the link to my onedrive it shows a broken link)

The page that should appear is this (a copy of the original one): https://robertogreco.eu/una-corta-autobiografia/ (slug: una-corta-autobiografia).

Calling the actual page, also shown in the pages list as “Home Page”, i.e. as https://robertogreco.eu/roberto-s-greco/ (slug: roberto-s-greco) gives the same “empty” page (probably somewhere a redirection) as https://robertogreco.eu/

I believe, but I.’m not 100% sure, this happened since I updated the web server to PHP 8.2 and/or WordPress 6.1.1, after not having touched the pages since long time.

I’m on a managed server by strato.de, so updates, backups, etc. should work all automatically.

Static front page problem

Hello There,
I tried to create a static home page for my website and when I linked it I am getting the following error message.

This page isn’t workingkidzchool.com redirected you too many times.
Try clearing your cookies.
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

But when I revert back the settings to the default, the homepage shows the blog feed without any issues. Please help.
I am new to WP. So I don’t know where I messed up.

Can’t edit homepage

I made the homepage a static page and now can’t access the content on the homepage to edit. When I go to pages and that page there is no content to edit. I also checked under Appearance>Customize and can’t find the old content either. Please help!

I am having an issue with my static home page using the twenty twenty theme. There is not an option under reading to change it to a static homepage. I have it changed under the twenty twenty theme portion, but its not carrying thru to the site. Any ideas what is going on?

I have added a script using html in elementor for static homepage.
Before that i had added the same in widgets which was visible but as i created a static homepage, it is not showing up.
It is taking up space below the tg slider.

For the past 9 months, I’ve had my WordPress site Homepage Display set to Static with no Posts Page selected. My site is updated with multiple articles daily.

According to the documentation, creating a “news” or “blog” page then selecting it within Settings – Reading “is mandatory as you are modifying WordPress default setting.” However, WordPress.com calls this same step optional.

Is selecting a Posts Page indeed mandatory if using a Static Homepage and, if so, has my site been negatively impacted this entire time? Thanks for your help!
