Tnx.
]]>Under Settings > Reading, “Your latest posts” has to be selected in order for the home page to display the front page elements, which is what I want.
However, how do I display blog posts on a page I created entitled “Blog”? Or, how do I add a static page for my front page/ home page?
If I select Your homepage displays – Your latest posts, the home page displays the Smart Home Automation elements, but the Blog page does not display my blog posts.
I want to use the blog-grid-layout template to display my blog posts. When Static Page is selected for homepage, I can select the “Blog” page for Posts page. This displays the blog posts in a grid, but the number of posts to display only shows 3.
Also, I deleted the date from the blog-grid-layout template, but the date still shows in the grid.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
]]>1) We use the cloudflare plugin but your plugin says to deactivate it, this is a problem as we would like to purchase the premium version for automatic uploading of static pages to Cloudflare pages and we cannot manually deactivate the cloudflare plugin every time, how can you solve this.
2) we have seen that static pages are generated as .html and this requires a complete rewriting of the urls with tens of thousands of redirects as we have over 50,000 live pages, how can we avoid this?
Thanks in advance for the answers.
]]>My website is currently private, as I am still working on it and will contain a login for various different users to access different areas of the WordPress.
This has not interfered in anything, but I am mentioning it incase anyone needs to actively view my WordPress at some point to see what is going on.
Currently:
I have a Static Homepage called ‘Home’ which is a page, which is the front page, and will contain different links for people to click on – employer, employee, subscriber etc. So currently ‘Home’ is not the main posts page.
I have a Static Posts page called ‘Posts’ which is a page, but which is not the front page, and will contain the main posts of my WordPress.
Plugins
Theme
The theme that I am using is Opulence by Pipdig https://www.pipdig.co/shop/wordpress-theme-opulence/
Features
As you can see on the featured theme above, there is an option for a featured slider. There are also additional options (not currently featured on that demo above) for Featured Categories, Featured Images etc.
On Customiser by default, the theme has it’s own options to feature these – but the widgets will only appear on the Front Page or Every Page – static page, posts or whatever is the default for the ‘Front Page.’
So I went under the Widgets section instead and tried to feature some other parts of the theme – Random Posts, Popular Posts, other installed plugin features etc.
These display successfully on the Front Page, but when I tick the Conditional Widgets box underneath each widget to ‘Hide on Front Page’ and ‘Show on Posts’ only, nothing appears. I must be doing this wrong, so could you please advise me?
Thanks kindly.
]]>I designed my home page as a blog post but the content is static.
I would like to change it to a normal static page without losing the content, in order to publish articles.
How can I do this?
Thanks!
]]>As mentioned in the handbook, I’m encountering an issue where I’m unable to set my custom template for the home page due to the existence of the front-page.php template file in the 2024 theme. Is there a way to utilize my template as a static page without removing the front-page.php template from the parent theme?
Thank you.
]]>I recently set my homepage as a static page and have a separate posts page for “recent blogposts.” I put a featured image on this posts page (using banner featured image layout) that will not display. I put featured images on all other pages on my website – using the banner featured image layout – that work just fine on those pages. Why can’t I get the featured image to work on the posts page? (It also won’t show the featured image if I use the default featured image layout option.)
Some more info…When I am editing the posts page and click “preview changes” it shows me the homepage, not the posts page that I am editing.
I use the Kale Theme, but I have a plugin that lets me use it the way it was before WordPress updated several years ago (if this makes sense).
Thanks for your help!!
