I am a retired senior and have never used a computer. I bought one to try out, for some reason I thought it would be a lot easier.
I will persist!
I found Shareaholic and set it up. So far I have not gotten far with my site, so we will see how it goes.
It seems easy to use and I hope to understand it better as I get my feet under me in the WP universe.
Thank you
Recently I have tried to change hosting companies (not sure if this has something to do with the missing pages or not) and now I am missing two pages on my wordpress site as well as all the information that was on the home page – except the slider which now has a random video behind the slider.
I have gone through to check that everything is published and yes everything looks fine I cannot see any errors (I don’t know code so please be kind to me).
I also updated visual composer to now baker? I don’t know if that has anything to do with it either.
I would be really appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thankyou
I’m gonna get straight to the point. For hours I’ve been trying and trying to figure out
1. How to remove the grey on the sides of my website.
The grey appeared because I had to add a header menu for easier navigation. So since I added the header menu, I had to raise the #header .pad
to reposition the picture to where it was before I added the menu. And now I can’t seem to remove the grey unless I make the whole background black…
When I inspect on Chrome to remove the grey it works, but when I tried to do the same in the theme editor (I have a child theme btw) it doesn’t work since I already customized the #header
.
My child themes style.css is connected to the main.min.css on the parent theme. So aren’t the changes I make to the child theme supposed to override all the code of the parents? Well obviously I’m missing something if that isn’t happening.
2. How to insert a light grey line to the bottom of my static welcome message (like the one on the bottom of the homepage of my website). And yes, I tried
.special {
border-bottom: 1px solid #eee;
}
it doesn’t work…
Hopefully you guys can help me solve my issue. Thanks everyone!

I am used to database programming using text files (30+ years of FoxPro and still going strong there), but I can’t see how to amend and then test the various bits of PHP code (wp-config.php etc). I suspect I am trying to get in through a thick wall because I can’t find the open door!
Once I get going I am sure I will be OK, but my feet are apparently nailed to the floor.
Hope someone understands my frustration, after several days, my head is sore. This was a very short version!
for some reason though I am still getting it referencing back to the initial webpage.
Heres the snippet directly copied from the functions.php file.
add_filter('tc_logo_title_display', 'change_site_main_link');
function change_site_main_link($output) {
return preg_replace('|href=https://xyz.net/|', 'href=https://yzx.com.au/', $output);'

}
Thanks for any help available.

I’m using the Vertigo theme. The problem is, the navigation bar is quite low in the theme. Down in the footer. Beneath my posts.
After much struggling I’ve at long last managed to hoist it up, so it now sits under my my logo. (where I want it).
However, when I post anything, video, images, blog, etc. they push the navigation bar back down the page again. How do I post beneath the navigation bar?
Thanks
