I’m new to WP and currently learning how to work with it. I have set up a small car related blog (because that’s my personal interest) and having some questions here and there.
There is the following question:
I have created a category page called “Car Reviews”. This is not per se a category page, but rather a normal WP page, that links to an actual category page.
Now, when I click on the page, it displays the URL of that page as:
https://dan-baisal.com/cars-and-automotive/
(I have changed Cars and Automotive to simply Car Reviews, don’t know why it didn’t update, maybe it takes some time?)
This page has a subcategory called “Mazda”. I’ve set this up as an actual category page in the WP backend. However, when I click on it, gives me the following URL address:
https://dan-baisal.com/category/car-reviews/mazda-cars/
Where does this category folder come from and why is it getting displayed? I obviously don’t need or want this folder, but I don’t know how to get rid of it.
Thanks for your support.
Best regards
Dan
]]>I am facing an issue with categories and subcategories on my WordPress website. Whenever I create a new post, I select a parent category and choose a subcategory where I want the article to appear. While this process works fine with some subcategories, I am encountering a problem with a few others. In some cases the subcategory and the category selected for the article appear in reverse order in my WordPress CMS. For example, when I choose the Palermo subcategory under the Sicilian Provinces category, the CMS shows Palermo, Sicilian Provinces. However, for the Syracuse and Trapani subcategories, the CMS displays the category name before the subcategory name, which causes a problem on the website as the subcategory does not appear in the menu.
How can I fix this issue?
Thank you in advance.
]]>Is this a bug or do I have something set up wrong?
Thank you for the answer and have a nice day!
The Primary Category does not show or there is no output on frontend when it is a child/subcategory. For example, if I use the %%primary_category%% variable in meta description, there is no output if it is a subcategory. How can I bulk edit all assigned subcategories as primary categories without having to individually edit 1000s of posts?
