Subscribe2HTML – Intermittent encoding problems

We have a handful of blogs using the Subscribe2HTML plugin (v 10.9). On one blog (only), emailed post content will occasionally get mangled with odd character substitutions that appear to be an encoding issue.

Random characters get replaced with = signs; others with “?” in a black diamond. Here are some excerpts:
helped make last week=E2??s dance a huge success
5:00 ?=80? 8:00: Girls’ Basketball

This does not appear in the WordPress post — only in the email, but not with every email!

It can happen when text is entered directly, and when copied & pasted from Word or an email.

html excerpt for public broken w/Subscribe 10.20.6

I updated Subscribe2 yesterday to 10.20.6 but now public subscribers only get text excerpt and not html excerpt notifications. This was working prior to 10.20.6.

FYI, we also have Subscribe2 Custom CSS (1.0) and Subscribe2 Custom Subscribe Message (1.0) installed.

Any suggestions?

Subscribe2 HTML issues -> hack

Recently took over a number of blogs which have been running Subscribe2 HTML for years. There was a pending update which I installed. Needless to say, everything broke. I tried fixing by uninstalling and starting from scratch….no joy. I finally dove into the code and found php which was coded wrong….and could not possibly work. I went ahead and hacked/fixed what I needed, but I don’t understand how we’re the only ones with this issue. I emailed the developer @ Semperplugins.com and no response.

Here is one example of what I’m referring to. Please correct me if I’m missing something, but ‘1’ is a string. The operand === compares value and type. If you compare the result of intval() and a string it’s always going to prove false.

Hope to hear from someone on this.

Subscribe2 HTML Crashed my site

We had the Subscribe2 plugin and the Subscribe2 Pro Premium plugin installed on our site when I realized that I still needed to add the HTML functionality for public subscribers to our weekly digest. I purchased and installed the Subscribe2 HTML plugin and it crashed my site. I am now getting the following error message on my site and can not even access my site via the admin dashboard:

HTML email format issue

I’ve just bought the premium version, which so far is great. However i need some help…

I’m actually a web ‘designer ‘(not developer) so know basic HTML, but the HTML emails when previewed in my inbox show with massive line breaks.

When i view the raw message code (in my Mac) it shows there has been tonnes of line and paragraph breaks added to the code…

How come? Can i solve this?

Activation error – Subscribe2_HTML

Hi, Matt,

We purchased the Subscribe2_HTML version on Friday from Semper and have been using the zip file as is.

I was getting a fatal error using the WP UI upload function when I tried to ACTIVATE the plugin. So I asked my Network Admin to install it directly onto the server (installs fine), but it wouldn’t activate that way either.

Are we missing a file in this zip? Or is this a conflict with another plugin?

Subscribe2 HTML activation error

I am experiencing an error every time i try to activate Subscribe 2 HTML plugin. I have Subscribe2 plugin(Free version) already installed on my server. However, every time it gives the following error when activating the HTML version:

Is there any file missing? i have just purchased it yesterday. What seems to be the issue? I didn’t find any installation guide on the website either.

IncSub no longer supporting subscriptions

Hi Matt,

I got an e-mail via PayPal that my subscription had been cancelled. I contacted IncSub, and was told they are discontinuing the WP Plugins service. Apparently my current subscription is fine, but they will not renew it.

This isn’t urgent, since my subscription is good until next October. Is there anything I need to do in the meantime to maintain it?
