]]>Now when I run the site in my browser, I get a completely new wordpress site even though the original site’s folders are still listed in the Solution Explorer.
I also get the error: “No directory mapping established” in the “Output” panel when I run the site in the browser.
I’ve been trying to figure this out for the last few hours and I am no closer to finding a solution or resource to find a solution.
I would really appreciate any help with this.
Thanks!
Kelsey
]]>I’m using the WooThemes Scrollider them and have WooCommerce installed. I can go into individual pages, posts and products and everything appears correct.
My guess is that my local database is not indexed correctly? Any help would be appreciated.
]]>I’m upgrading a website to improve it’s functionality and SEO. Therefor I created a test environment (subdomain, migrated live database and WP installation files).
Now, if I want to put on Yoast tools on it, set it up and then migrate it to the live environment, how would that look?
Riht now I have installed but disabled the plugin because some of the options available are related to Google Webmaster’s tools etc which are connected to live environment.
So when I want to export from live again and import to test then I will- first thing- disable Yoast SEO in test environment and then I will go it all over once I’m live again.
I’m at crossroads here- how to set it up so that it won’t affect live enviornment?

]]>On a different part of my hosted server, I have a test site:
bbb.com
I am using DirectAdmin.
I now want to activate bbb.com because my test site is ready. It’s URL and all the database etc should change to aaa.net.
My current live site aaa.net should become the new test site or a backup for if the change to bbb.com fails.
In the end I can test plugins and when it works I switch back again to that working site. So I have always a back up/test site and a live site.
How to do this?
]]>1. What do you guys think is the best procedure here?
2. What are the implications of creating an addon domain (stage.mysite.com) for testing?
3. What alternatives do you recommend?
4. What documentations do you suggest me to read?
5. How easy would it be to migrate/move the content of the stage environment to live without compromising permalinks, etc?
6. Thank you for your support.
Regards
A.
But when using WordPress / Php / Https plugin, the localhost port doesn’t automatically switch over from the random port that localhost uses when in http mode. It actually removes the port number and gives a page error when going from a non-secure to a secure page.
Not sure where the problem is or if the plugin is doing something that affects this setup, but wanted to bring this up, as otherwise WEbMatrix is becoming a fantastic development tool for WP devs.

]]>I’m sure this question has already been asked but searching the forums have come up dry for me (perhaps I’m just not searching using correct terminology).
Anyway, my question is regarding the process of setting up a WordPress site for a client who already has a non-Wordpress website running. I want to set up and design a WordPress site using a theme, along with some widgets and images (in the media library). I have no issues setting the site up under a test domain, but then, all the url that are referenced, along with all of the images that I uploaded, are all under the testdomain.com. Once the site design is approved, what is the easiest way to move the site to the new URL, without having to go and change every single link and image on my site to the new URL? Does that make sense? Hopefully it does, and hopefully there is a simple, straightforward answer.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

]]>I want to create a copy database on a test URL (ie www.mydomain.com and www.mytestdomain.com)
However I find that the original mysql wordpress database tables don’t start with wp_ but have a prefix of something else, eg ab_ (I presume at one point I considered a multi-site solution).
So my plan was to copy export teh original database and import it into the test URL. Then run “safe search and replace” tpo swap teh url’s over so that I could use them in the test environment – then put them back.
But the test environment cannot see the ab_ wordpress tables.
Please can anyone explain how I fix this.
Many thanks
Phil
