delete theme button gone in 3.8

Looks like one can no longer delete themes from admin in 3.8–only add, activate, and preview.

Sometimes I preview a number of themes before settling on one to customize. I don’t want to keep the others around later–they only pester me with meaningless “update” notices.

I’m quite capable of deleting unwanted themes from my websites directly, but taking away a simple convenience seems unwarranted. Could we have the “delete” button back, please?

Multisite not allowing me to upload themes

Hi all,

I have a multisite installation running several sites on a cloud based infrastructure. I have checked all the allowances for the space and even cleared out some unused plugins and themes from the network dash, however whenever I try to upload a new theme I get

You have used your space quota. Please delete files before uploading

I have even got to the point where I cut this down to a child theme with just the minimal style.css in the zip file (a grand total of 5k) and it still gave me the same response.

I then tried to install a theme from www.ads-software.com and…you’ve guessed it, no space apparently!

I have been in touch with my hosts and they tell me they have made no changes that might affect the uploader.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this and/or how to fix it?

broken theme preview / installation on wpmu to wp3.0 upgrade

I have four wp multisite installs, but this problem is only occurring on one of them, and I have tried in vain to figure out the problem. This particular install was an upgrade from wpmu. The other three are new installs.

New themes will not install from the theme installer, and I can’t get the preview window to open. instead, it opens in an iframe-type box at the bottom of the page.

Can anyone help me with this?

Problem with theme & plugin installer

I recently created a new site on WP 3 and I am having a problem with the theme and plugin installer. When I click “install now” the screen says downloading install package from whatever file and then it just stops. I’m not even getting an error message. I have also tried ftp. This works to install the theme or plugin, but when I activate it I get an internal server error. Any thoughts?

Permissions error in theme installer

When I try the theme installer, I keep getting permissions errors. On checking the file system on the server, everything is the same as the plugin installer and that works fine. I am logged in as an administrator and deactivating all plugins changes nothing. What could be the cause?
