Yesterday I attempted to change themes and uploaded this particular theme:
https://www.acmethemes.com/demo/?theme=portfolio-web
It didn’t work at all and I haven’t been able to make ANY themes apply properly since. I’m only a beginner but I’ve managed to delete and uninstall then reinstall WordPress through C panel, updated my PHP version but still nothing works. would anyone be able to help?
cheers

]]> I worked on this for 2 days, and finally decided to reinstall the new 4.3 per forum advice given to others. No change. I did not touch the wp-config file or the contents folder or the database yet.
I think I could use some advice before I go any further. my site is
https://alexjuel.com/how-to-install-subdomain-version-of-wpmu-on-godaddy/
It’s been fine this whole time, but recently in the past couple of months I noticed the styles missing from the subdomains. I’m not sure when this happened or who’s fault it is, GoDaddy’s or WordPress 3.0. My main site can use the themes fine and I can see them in the preview section, but when I go the backend of one my subdomains, the previews no longer work but it still says that there is a theme applied.
My main site is https://stuffexperts.com and an example of a subdomain is https://macspeech-dictate.stuffexperts.com/
I even completely reinstalled Wordspress 3.0 and set it up according to the directions at GoDaddy, https://help.godaddy.com/article/6143, but still no luck.
Is there some way I can trick my installation into working? I really don’t want to use the subfolder option. Maybe editing the .htaccess to show the subdomains where the themes are at? I have no idea where to start.
]]>Prior to posting here I have done the following;
1- delete it and upload it to the site again-no luck
2- try other themes-no luck
3- generate my own theme, upload that- no luck
4- contact the people at my web hosting in case it was a mistake on their part- my super knows-everything website guy was confused too.
They simply don’t show up. I can switch between the 2 themes that came with wordpress(default and classic) but cannot seem to get any other themes to show up even though they are very clearly in the folder sitting right there.
The blog is at www.ConceptJamaica.com/cjblog/
Any advice?
Thanks in advance!
I am Systems Manager at a small primary school – am using an old Windows 2003 server with IIS 6 to run a streaming media server, a wiki server (MediaWiki – also uses MySQL and PHP) and now hopefully WordPress. The PHP and SQL database are set up as well as I know how (I am a rank beginner) WordPress 2.3 installs but it runs so badly as to be unusable.
Pages take 20 seconds or so to load, the themes only ‘skin’ the index.php page that appears before the user logs in (including the ‘admin’ user) otherwise the default theme persists, if you try to enable the caching plugins, the Options page for the plug-in is blank. I have completely removed the database, uninstalled and re-installed several times, each time with the same result. I am assuming there is a problem with filepaths somewhere but I don’t know where to start!
As the other websites are already running under IIS, WordPress is in its own folder not wwwroot. I would like to get this to run smoothly a) without destroying the other sites on the IIS server and b) without having to resort to a hosted install but to keep a safe blogging environment for the kids to make errors that are kept within the school intranet.
TIA for any assistance!
