Antispam Bee Not Marking Obvious Spam Trackbacks as Spam

Hi. I have Antispam Bee version 2.11.2 on a WordPress site using WP version 5.9. The plugin is doing a great job of filtering out spam, except for trackbacks. Every day, multiple trackbacks that are clearly spam fail to get marked as spam. I get notified of them to get my approval. I have to keep going in and manually marking them as spam.

I’m not sure why these many trackback comments aren’t getting marked as spam. I believe I have the plugin settings set up in a way that should catch them. I have “Do not check trackbacks/pingbacks” unchecked. I have “Check complete site markup for comment forms” checked. These trackbacks are very obvious spam based on their contents.

Any idea how I can get Antispam Bee to start marking these trackback spam comments as spam? Thank you.

Hi,I switched to Antispam bee plugin 6 days ago and since we activated it, we’ve been getting comments and email notifications every time we link to another article on our website to moderate the pingback. We’ve also started getting spammy trackbacks/pingbacks from other websites too. I’ve turned on “Do not check trackbacks / pingbacks on Antispam Bee and it’s still happening every time we link to another article.

This was not happening before and it only started some days ago when we left Akismet and moved to Antispam Bee.

Please how do I solve this? It’s really frustrating.

Random pingbacks and no trackbacsk

Hello,
For a while I thought that trackbacks and pingbacks are just stopped. I dont send anything if I link to another blog. Nothing on my own articles.

The options are enabled, but are not working. I tried several tutorials to re-enable them, with no luck. So I gave up about 2 years ago.

This year, probably the new updates or something, I experience random pingbacks to own articles. One day 10, another day 20, these are old pingbacks sent now.

No lock with trackbacks yet. At least I don’t find any.

Spammy domain in my trackbacks from my own posts

When I self pingback to another post on my blog.I am getting a spammy domain name in all trackbacks even self pings you can see the domain jetamexmusic in the email. I have nothing to do with this domain name and my own was never registered before. Could this be a plugin I am using?

When creating an internal link it usually appears in the comment column of the link.

What is the appropriate treatment for the type of ping back link in the comments column given:
* If approve it, looks not neat in the comments column.
* If it’s deleted, how will the effect be with SEO.

Thanks for the plugin.
I have a problem with spam script. I see that the script is not like guest user, i blocked comments functionality for guests but no effect.
I saw the same when i make a link from one post to another (like comment on this page: https://l1va.ru/en/gitlab_runner_configuration/ ) – it is like automaticaly comment. But can you help and suggest what can be with such spam? Where i can find the problem?

Odd Behaviour with Comments & Trackbacks

I noticed that the COMMENTS section on my pages only display TRACKBACKS. My SETTINGS > DISCUSSION to SHOW ONLY 10… so I unchecked that option and all 34 comments and trackbacks appear. If I turn it back on, I go back to just TRACKBACKS. If I set the number to 10, 8 trackbacks appear but if I set the number to 8 or 15, only two TRACKBACKS APPEAR… and no comments under any scenario. It is very odd.

I am not sure if this is a WPress issue or a Theme Issue.

Thoughts?

Remove “Reply” text from pingbacks

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a way to remove the possibility to reply to the pingbacks/trackbacks in the comments section. I’ve provided an example of an article with pingbacks/trackbacks.

I don’t want to disable pingbacks/trackbacks from showing up in the comments section, I just want to remove the possibility of replying to them (removing the “Reply to X” text).

Still Getting Trackbacks after disabled

Afternoon,
Over the past couple days, we have been receiving a lot of trackback spam. I have disabled trackbacks within the core settings and I have also removed the comment field from my single.php template (we don’t use commenting anyways).

So – Trackbacks are disabled through core settings. Each post has trackbacks disabled (checkbox) and the single.php template does not have the comment functionality (removed completely). Why am I still receiving trackbacks on posts?

After reading about all the security issues, I unchecked the “pingbacks/trackbacks” option on my site. However, I’m using Jetpack. Is this going to totally disable Jetpack, or just disable some features?
