Trailer Logic Errors

I know there have been several recent updates to the trailer logic in the past week, but there are still issues plus there remains a long-standing bug with .

I’ve confirmed all of this is (still) true with the current, 10.0.7 build of Powerpress.

1. Trailer bug: If there is no episode marked as Trailer (in Episode Description > See More Settings > Type > Trailer), then the most recent episode marked as “Full Episode” in the same place becomes set as .

Definitely related is number 2 here, which has been an issue for a LONG time:

2. The “full episode” inconsistency bug: The only way to get full to appear in the section for a show’s feed is to set the Type to “Full Episode”. Leaving it at “Full (default)” omits ANY tag from appearing for that .

This is a huge issue, of course, because Apple subscriptions matches the RSS feed on the tag along with and, if it exists, . But I can 100% confirm that if is missing, then Apple Subscriptions will NOT match and will, instead, post a duplicate episode to subscribers’ feeds.

Because of that, I have to manually set every episode to Type: Full Episode in order to get that tag to appear and, then, because of the first bug I mentioned, PowerPress (now) makes that episode the trailer, too.

Hopefully this is enough detail for y’all to replicate and resolve, but obviously please feel free to reach out if not. Thanks!

Client wants page to play trailer when clicked on. Perhaps that worked once? Not sure. At any rate, clicking on the trailer only refreshes the event page. Maybe this is an issue with Event Calendar? Bringing to the IMBD page is fine, just wants user to intuitively access trailer.

I seem to remember there being an “episode type” setting for each podcast that allowed us to set certain episodes as “trailers” – but can no longer find it. Am I wrong?

How do we set trailer episodes like trailer?

I have a client that is hosting a film and trailer with vhx.tv which is a Vimeo like video hosting service.

I want the trailer to open in an overlay when the Watch Trailer button is clicked on the website. How can I do this?

Featured image, posters, trailers and shortcakes

Hi, Thx for a great plugin!! A got a few questions.

1. Is it possible to have a movie poster set to the movie and a different picture as featured image? I want the featured image to show at the beginning of the post and on my homepage and use a shortcode to get the poster inside the post.

2. Is it possible to add the movie trailer shortcake inside the movie-shortcode? Like this: [movie title=”Winter’s Tale” poster=”medium” details=”rating” meta=”genres|runtime|director|writer|photography|actors” movie_trailer title=”Winter’s Tale” ] Doesn’t work for me.

3. Is it possible to use a custom image for the ratings?

For my movie blog screen comment I need to update the Cannes Festival page with new videos (the festival starts in less than two weeks).

we got hacked last year and my web developer actually walked away from the whole project, thank goodness I have an IT expert looking into the matter.

posting videos in that sidebar video trailer list would go as follows:

I’d post a video as a post
Then I’d go on to PLAYLIST
select the correct PLAYLIST (cannes)
select the video I’ve just posted from the media list at right
slide and drop into column at left
and voila….

the problem I’ve been encountering is the media list at right is empty. can’t even search for something, it’s empty!

MovieTrailer

When I try to load up the Trailer section with Chrome, I get a lot of errors in the log and the movie’s windows is very small and no option to go fullscreen unless I click Youtube….Same result on Safari.

As for Firefox, the window’s size is still small but I get the fullscreen button and therefore, don’t need to get on youtube.

hi ive just migrated from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com and over at wp.com and all the trailer embeds I couldnt use at wp.com now i can use and the ones i could use i cant seem to use at wp.org. my site is movie based and i do get trailers sent to me and my new video host Rightster.com have a option to post on wordpress (via vodpod) but wp.com

I cant seem to work out how to post the trailers at wp.org, does anyone know how too? is there a plug in that will help?
