I uploaded all of my files, but after I went to the site it asked me to set up WordPress again. I did that, and I got a million and one database errors, and it sent me back to the installation page again.
I am not too familiar with databases, but I watched a video and a guy had to click on the top so that it gets all of his databases. I might not have done that. 2 tables is all that showed up after I tried to import the sql file. Seems how I did a “full backup” on Host Gator, I was thinking that I could try and go through that and restore a different version of the DB. I heard that “full backups” actually do store the sql file, but I can’t find it. I really do not know if that would help, but I thought that I could try.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
]]>In my Dashboard, everything seems to be correct. Here’s an odd thing: If you go to the About Us there is one picture showing. It’s the first of three slide images. The slide does not transition like it should. There should also be three pics under the Our Team heading. There is a empty space where those pictures should go. Using Chrome, if I right click on one of those spaces where the picture should be and choose “open image in new tab,” the picture appears in the new tab. Now here’s a clue that is telling me something but I don’t know what its telling me: If I delete the picture for Michael Lopez and upload a new one, nothing changes. BUT if I delete the picture for Michael and replace it with Rich’s picture, nothing happens again and the URL for that space STILL leads to the picture of Michael not Rich. It would probably be easier to recreate the entire site but I really want to know what’s going on here.
By the way, I have disabled the plugins and switched themes but that doesn’t fix anything.

]]>I moved my hosting yesterday (and transfered my domain name to the new host). I have my main domain (www.lukeseager.com) and a bunch of subdomains (spidr.lukeseager.com, beats.lukeseager.com and blog.lukeseager.com). All of these (except for beats subdomain) run their own wordpress install. The beats subdomain links to my bandcamp page (or should).
Anyway, if you go to lukeseager.com my home page seems to work fine, the PHP pulls in the latest posts from 2 categories and it’s all fine and dandy. But if you click on any link to go to any other page on the site it says the page cannot be found. Even though int he WP backend all of my pages (vision & works) and there and the premalink to that page is correct.
I followed a bunch of tutorials, exporting the database and importing it into the new host, changing the wp-config file to the correct log-ins and passwords as well as copying everything from my original server to the new one.
But for some reason my single post pages and pages themselves don’t want to show up. Also, non of my subdomains are working (I created new subdomains on the new hosts cPanel. But I think they might just need a bit of time to propagate?).
Any help you have would be amazing!
Thanks.
I had taken a backup of wpcontent and transferred that into my new host.
