Having Page ID and Post ID present in Site Admin is very useful for someone who manages a website. It saves a lot trouble from navigating in and out of viewing the actual pages in order to get the page or post ID’s.
Would you please revert the changes? Thanks.
]]>once you make a new page.. you get the choice to VIEW it…
but it you EDIT it… you only get a PREVIEW… which is not the same hyperlink/URL…. not really useful sometimes..
also. since I am here.. why did the PAGE ID numbers go away?! that was a sad move for me…
]]>I hate the change to side navigation. This is a huge adjustment and no longer a user friendly interface. My important plug-ins such as NextGen and Statpress now are found at the very bottom of the left side.
I’ll get over it because I have to… but I chose not to upgrade my other sites after experiencing the “upgrade” on two sites.
Again, it’s hard to complain when I appreciate the work so entirely but this new interface blows.
]]>I have upgrade to WP 2.6 a while back and now I am not able to see the Category numbers. This is a pain because I add the numbers on the Categories I want to exclude from showing on my SubNav Bar.
How do I see what numbers each of my Categories are?
Thanks.
]]>I would prefer to be able to see all columns at the same time instead of having to Switch between which column I’m viewing.
I can’t save Text Widgets and put them into the next column… I have to copy and paste the info from within the text widget.
]]>When I write posts I would like to change the name of the author.
I have people submit stories to me and I am the one who posts them. Instead of always having it say By “my name” I would like to put their name.
]]>I have to say, I completely agree. My blog has around 200 categories (yes, I know… but it’s just the way it is) and I have to constantly refer back to my posts to ensure that I assign all the correct categories to the post. Couple that with the shortness of the category selection box and it creates real problems. It requires excessive scrolling to the point that it’s, to be frank, utterly inconvenient.
I see so many people are not happy with this particular issue – is it likely therefore that categories will return to the right hand margin? Or will someone perhaps come up with a plugin that allows dashboard customisation?
Other pet-hates of mine include the size of the post area itself, and the way in which scheduled posts are now not only buried, but displayed in the opposite order to how they used to be displayed. (Bloggers want to see which of their scheduled posts are due to appear next, don’t they? If you have a lot of scheduled posts, you can’t readily see this anymore.)
Sorry to moan… WP is great otherwise, but this first point is so clearly a biggie for a lot of bloggers that I’m surprised it doesn’t seem to be being addressed.

]]>and why aren’t pages and posts (on their respective manage admin pages) sortable by clicking the heading on top of those columns? I’d love to sometimes see them sorted by ID, by name, etc
Is there some compatible plugin that would rectify this?
]]>Like everyone, I get the “nag tag” on my dashboard saying I need to upgrade. So, I do and have never had a problem until now with 2.5.x. Of course the interface changed and I do not like it at all. MUCH less intuitive (and uuuuuuuugly colors).
But, what’s bugging me most of all right now is that my “bolds” and “italics” don’t show up in the wysiwyg post/page write screen. When I do a preview, there they are. But, not in Press itself as I write. It used to be. Why not now that I “UP”-graded?
