Please note that I’m creating wordpress websites for over 10 years now, in depth, and made use of Wordfence because it was simple to use and an excellent option to use for free. So when I started a new website today it was my go-to firewall but oh boy I was wrong this time.
Created a new wordpress website today and installed wordfence through the addon page (first thing to install). Needed to provide my e-mail to obtain a license, done. Checked the boxes and immediatly got an e-mail from them (newsletter of sorts). However I’m still (4 hours later) waiting for the promised key I need to continue the installation.
Reading up on the comments from other free users the issues are there for some time now without any proper action to fix these. I checked the much claimed ‘javascript error’ but there is none to be found.
Look, I get you need to make money and would like us to pay for your services but still leaving a half arsed free service into place is ridiculous. Either stop providing the free service or fix the issues related and make the key easy obtainable.
And hey, we might even think about buying a key somewhere in the future.
(I sure hope this is a easier process for paying customers…)
In short, Wordfence, please;
– Get your key delivery system in order for free users
Stil looking forward to a working key, but until then I might consider other options.
Sincerely.

I have the same situation as other users reported, where Wordfence states that it is unable to query the database.
I followed your guidelines, set up the debugging, changed the value to 20, performed a new scan and clicked on the “send report by email” button. It didn’t ask me for my WP forum username, though.
Please let me know if you need me doing anything else and many thanks for your time and help!
Cheers,
Javier

]]>Also, they keep on telling me that, there have been a critical connection error on my website.
Please, help me resolve this issue.
After countless of different approaches and attempts, I have been stumbling into the same problem the whole day.
I have 19 plugin updates ready to go but WordPress refuses to update these plugins and provides me with this error message: Update failed -1.
Also, when I try to download a new plugin it refuses and gives me the following error message: Update failed.
I tried to update the plugins on a different website I own, and everything works perfectly fine there.
I checked everything including PHP with my hosting and nothing seems to work.
Can someone please advise and help me solve the issue?

]]>I have this error:
Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required ‘/home/customer/www/joriphotography.com/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php74/pear’) in?Unknown?on line?0
From my website joriproductions.com
I am using namecheap, siteground & WordPress.
The issue occur when i decide to “migrate” my siteground website joriphotography.com into joriproductions.com with the method here:
https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/getting-started/change-sites-domain-name/
It looks to be the easiest because I have an empty domain (joriproductions.com) and hence transferring from my then domain, joriphotography.com to the new one seems to be the best.
However, my wordfence plugin was on when doing the transfer. Now there is a fatal error on joriproductions.com
Would like help here.
Regards,
Jori
