I have a photography page and use my “attachment pages” for photo details. I upload photos to WordPress “unattached” and then manually attach them to the post/page/custom-PT where I use the photo, using WP’s Media Library, by filtering for “Unattached” items, and then using the “Attach” feature.
I have Yoast Breadcrumbs added to the attachment pages and up until recently, they’ve been working fine. Now however, even after “attaching” them, the breadcrumbs do not show the complete “path” but rather, just Home >> Title, as if the attachment was still unattached.
This can be seen here:
https://www.alex-kunz.com/plant/nemophila-menziesii-var-integrifolia/pale-nemophila-menziesii-var-integrifolia/
You see that the URL clearly shows where this photo is “attached” to, yet the breadcrumb doesn’t show this.
Only when I manually go to the editor and click “Update” (without actually making changes) the correct “path” is shown in the breadcrumbs, for example here:
https://www.alex-kunz.com/plant/nemophila-menziesii-var-integrifolia/baby-blue-eyes-flowers-leaves/
Unfortunately I can’t exactly say when this started to happen, so I’m not even sure if it’s a Yoast issue, or if something has changed with a WordPress update? I’m just scratching my head and would be grateful if someone could point me into the right direction, if only to further investigate myself.
Thanks!
Alexander.
I am not sure why some images show as unattached because I can see them in the post. They are either selected as the featured image or belong to a gallery.
Thanks,
Cemal
]]>If this isn’t possible, can you confirm that an image used in the photo gallery will remain if I remove it from the media library? Any suggestions on how to safely remove about 8,000 images would be greatly helped. The blog is CostaRicaAndBeyond.com and does not have any Woo Commerce plugin.
]]>Is there a way to batch regenerate the “attached to” column in the library?
And to be clear, the media links/url are the good one, no old url/new url broking link, i cleared cache, regenerate thumbnails already.
Thank for you help!

Hope I can get some newbie advice.
I have a site being built with Divi – under construction – it has a large number of images that are not required – they are not used on any of the pages & posts.
I understand the the Pro version of Media Cleaner is needed for Divi sites
Before I dive in – can someone please confirm whether this plug-in can delete ALL images that are not being used on the site – and if so what precautions apart from full backup should be taken.
If this is not possible – can someone suggest how this can be done please.
TIA
take care and stay safe
]]>Why can’t WordPress establish a hook that plugins can avail of to tell it what media resources it is using? That way wordpress can run that hook and will now know if a file is truly detached.
Since the information in the backend is false I am deleting nothing.

What about multisite support?
