They’re from different areas around the world too – what is going on?
]]>However, I have moved the login url using the plugin WPS Hide Login.
As the login url is now something completely different, how are these attacks still happening? What method are they using to attempt the login?
Has someone guessed the new url?
Can we include the login url being used in the alert from wordfence?
thanks !
]]>It has been common for me to receive messages like this from WordFence for the last 2 months: “[Wordfence Alert] vemverosolnascer.com User locked out from signing in”.
I’m detoxing my site, updating everything, reviewing other mistakes, but this keeps happening and I don’t think it’s normal. Is it? What can I do to protect my site?
Thank you.

Any ideas on how 2 users on the same network can function so differently?

]]>I recently downloaded the Wordfence free version and I keep getting the follow email alerts:
“This email was sent from your website …..
A user with IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xx has been locked out from the signing in or using the password recovery form for the following reason: Exceeded the maximum number of login failures which is: 20. The last username they tried to sign in with was: ‘admin’ …”
Strangely, the IP address in the email alert is the IP address of my website, and I dont use an “”admin” username.
Any thoughts on how this is happening?
Thanks,
Steve

]]>I am wondering how this is possible if my login page is, in effect, invisible? Somehow Wordfence is registering 20 login attempts from someone even though the login page is hidden.
I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

]]>I would simply ban the user IP address, however, it this is coming from my IP!
This really concerns me. What could it be? What should I do?
I scanned my computer for problems but nothing came up.
I noticed they are continually trying different user names, and this seems like some automated attack.
I use strong usernames and passwords, so I do not think they will ever get in.
But of course, I want to get to the bottom of this and stop the attack.
