Admin Login using My Username from another country

Hi there,

I’ve had notifications on two of my clients’ websites to advise of an admin login, using my user account but from another country on a date and time that I didn’t login.

I’ve since checked the sites, carried out a Wordfence scan which identified an altered/unknown file in the theme, deleted it and then re-scanned to make sure that nothing else was found.

On one of the websites, I decided to add a new admin user account for me to use but when I tried to delete my original user account it led to a 500 error that affected all of the admin pages but not the front end of the site.

I haven’t tried this with the second site, as yet, but thought I’d ask here, first.

Any ideas as to what has happened and what I need to do about it?

Problems with adding users.

I use my WordPress as a classroom tool in a college writing course. I am having trouble adding two users. Both have registered with WordPress accounts and neither can access the blog itself when they log in. One has accepted the invitation and registered, but from my end it shows that the invitation status is still classified as “waiting.” What can I do to help them? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, since this is a summer course we need help ASAP.

s2member User Login Problems

Every time a user tries to log in through s2member this error message comes up on the user page in my admin:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/18/5788418/html/academy/wp-content/plugins/s2member/includes/functions/users-list.inc.php on line 90

And they get taken to the welcome page, but then when they try to go to any other page it just redirects them back to the membership sign up page.

If I add the user manually through the site it seems to work fine but not when they register themselves.

I have checked that all the urls are set to https://website.com with none set to https://www.website.com as the troubleshooting guide on the s2member site suggested.

I run a few websites through wordpress but this is my only membership site and I don’t know what to do, what this means or how to fix it.

Non-programmer with new WP Blog

I had a local sebsite firm design a blog using WP for me. He charged $630 and turned over the site to me. With no experience in this area, I asked about his customer service to help me learn about using the site. His response was to buy a book. ???? I have been posting blogs and creating pages, but cannot figure out how to do anything else. It seems to me that I need to know PHP and HTML in order to use this website. I am not a programmer and am not planning on taking any courses to use it. I expected a user-friendly site and someone that could answer questions that I have, but instead I am out $630, and it looks like i have to go find another blog site that is much easier to use. Am I correct in that I really can’t use WP unless I know PHP and HTML code?

I am the registered admin for my website, https://www.techgeec.com. I also have about five registered authors. When I log in to my admin account and put up a post, it says that the author is one of the other registered authors, not “admin”. Anything I can do?
