I’m currently testing this plugin to see if it can work for my client.
We have multiple custom taxonomies and would like to only show specific filters if a user has made a specific taxonomy choice in a previous filter.
I notice there is the option to have parent filters and hide a filter depending on whether a parent filter has been selected, but not to show/hide a filter based on what selection has been made.
An example would be:
Drop down filter 1 has options A, B and C > if user selects option A, show filter 2, if user selects option B, show filter 3, and if user selects option C, show filter 4.
Is this possible?
]]>1. How to allow users to change their own Groups (which I understand is not currently a function), and/or
2. How to assign users to Groups in accordance with user parameters.
To be more specific with an example:
As part of the user profile, they can pick an affiliation (creature, such as toad, rabbit, bear, etc.).
The website has normal public pages to it, but it ALSO has pages and content that are specific to those creatures. So, for example, a page called “News for Rabbits”. If and only if a user has chosen “rabbit” as their affiliation, they will see that page (and obviously they will not see any other animal pages).
And to be specific, they shouldn’t even see the forbidden pages in the menu (because the menu would be otherwise flooded with animal pages and that’s crazymaking).
I’m obviously able to build Groups such as “Rabbit” and “agouti” and “tarsier” and so forth, and the page/menu restrictions work great, but the affiliation asignment has to be done by an Admin. (as far as I can tell). Is there a way for a User to pick a different animal/affiliation/Group and then they have concomitant different access? (I’ve subsequently learned this function does not yet exist)
Alternately…
I’m (currently) exploring a plug-in called User Meta that allows for extra fields on a user account. On the front end, users CAN select their animal/affiliation…
…but I can’t figure out how to get Press Permit Core to either use that attribute as the basis for a Group, or some other method of classifying Users.
If PPC can’t do this, is there a complementary plug-in that will achieve this? I would appreciate any advice toward achieving a good functional mix.
Thanks!

]]>I want to have a dropdown list that is populated with a set list of items, in this case city names (New York, Boston, Miami, etc). Once a user selects a city in that dropdown list, based on their selection, I want the 2nd dropdown list to populate with another list (museums, dining, etc). Then based on the selections of both lists, the page would populate with content.
I’ve been using wp for several years for different sites, but I can’t do php coding or anything like that, I’m trying to learn, but not there yet.
Any advice on how to do this, or directing me to a plugin, theme, anything that I can download or buy to do this would be very much appreciated.
Thanks and have a great day
]]>An example:
Client has over 5,000 products…
2008 Chevy Tahoe
2009 Honda Fit
2011 Toyota Camry SE
I’d need to find a plug-in, or trick query, that I could create for the user to select:
2008, then Chevy… or 2009, then Honda… or 2011, then Toyota, then Camry, etc. etc.
Does such a thing exist? Is this something that can be heavily manipulated through custom post types and various queries? I’m hoping the prior as with as many products as they have, we’re looking at a lot of leg work.
Any help you have would be most helpful. Thanks in advance!
]]>I’m currently making a site that requires an events service selection by the user based with options at various levels. Is there any plugin or other way to create this?
Weddings
Children’s parties
Corporate events —- 10-20 people/20-50 people etc. —— budget 1k-5k/5k-8k etc. > email sent to support with details of selections
(I hope this makes sense!)
Is there a way I can do this in a slider fashion on one page?
]]>OK first off I’m not sure if this plugin exists, so if you know of something please can you direct me in the right direction. If not does anyone know how to do this…
The situation.
A “User” (not registered, just a stumble on viewer of the site) goes in to the blog and see the “General” category. In this view they can check boxes that relate to categories they would like to read.
So maybe out of;
They might check: News & Sport.
This would then only show posts from these categories and nothing else.
Does this exist? is is a plugin? or is it something I can manualy code (with very simple knowledge of php)?
]]>there are some plugins for implementing commercial shopping cart systems –astonishingly there seems NO solution/plugin for something much more simple… like a memory list.
I want visitors of my blog to be able to parse through and select posts they want to keep in a note/memory list for later reference or to view (print…) at the end.
– is there something like this? thanks for help, as I haven′t found it. (if there isn′t, there should be! free information collection seems as worthwhile as shopping in the blogosphere :-))
