AB Plugin update crashes site

The most recent update of the plugin crashed my site completely.
Only the wordpress recovery mode saved me and I was able to roll back to 2.6 and my website is back up.

Crashed after upgrading to version 2.6

After upgrading to version 2.6, my site immediately crashed. After having my hosting provider disable the plug-in my site came back.

This is the error I get now when I try to activate it: Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. expecting identifier (T_STRING) or variable (T_VARIABLE) or ‘{‘ or ‘$’ in/home/crimp111/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/sermon-manager-for- wordpress/includes/class-sm-dates-wp.php on line 42

Incremental Update? 2.6 to 3.05

I just received a request from a potential client to update his wp site to the current version from what he’s now running (2.6). It’s a large site, if that makes a difference.

Can someone let me know what potential risks I might be facing — I’ve never updated a site below 2.7. I expect there might be issues with plugins, maybe even the theme. What else can I look for? And how difficult is it to assess possible problems beforehand? Any ideas about how much work might be involved? This won’t be an automatic update obviously

WP v2.6 – Registration Email not sent!

I installed version 2.3.3 through Fantastico De Luxe in the cPanel but faced a problem with users not getting an email after registering. I tried looking for solutions on your forum but none exist that solved the issue for me.

So I uninstalled it completely and installed the latest version 2.6 after following all instructions. I still face the same problem! Can someone from the wordpress technical team please assist me with this? If you want you can request for the url and I’ll post it for you, else it is available in my profile.
