Important information about Version 3.0

In the coming weeks, likely the start of March 2019, we are releasing a new version of this plugin – version 3.0. This forum post contains important information about this new version of the WP Broadbean plugin.

It has been over 4 years since the very first version of the plugin was developed and since then it has undertaken many iterations. In order to improve the plugin from a user, developer, translation and security point of view we wanted to make some changes. These changes will be released in version 3.0 in the coming weeks.

The new version of the plugin is a complete rewrite and as such is not backward compatible with previous versions. The XML data needed for the plugin has changed along with the endpoint posting URL and much much more.

Therefore for users running 2.2.4 or less, we recommend that you remain on this version of the plugin for now. When you are ready to update your website, this is probably the best time to change to the new version. You can find more information on the attached link.

In summary, version 3.0 of the plugin coming soon is not compatible with older version of the plugin and you cannot simply update from version 2.2.4 or lower to version 3, without doing some work on your site first.

V3.0 creates multiple conflicts – issues

Hello,
Since I have updated to V3.0 – I have found the following issues with WP 4.9.8 :

1) Reply to Comments within the Comments area of WP no longer works – works when your plugin is disabled
2) Drop-down access to widget settings does not work – works when your plugin is disabled

This is all I have found so far, but seems I will have to revert to an earlier version to keep my site functioning. Love the plugin though, will update when these are fixed.

Starting with version 3.0 of Google Pagespeed Insights, all of the functionality that was previously only available in the paid ‘premium’ version of this plugin; is now available for free.

If you are already a user of the premium addon, after updating to version 3.0 the addon will be automatically deactivated, and you can uninstall it from your plugins page.

= Report Snapshots =

The Report Snapshot tool builds on the power of Report Summaries, to provide historical “Point In Time” data about your website.

Take a snapshot of any Report Summary screen to store that data for future retrieval. Add comments to your snapshots to provide additional meaning, such as “Before Installing W3 Total Cache.” Additionally, filter a Report Summary before taking a Snapshot to save a summary of the filtered data.

= Snapshot Comparison Tool =

The Snapshot Comparison Tool is an amazing utility that lets you visualize side-by-side results from any two similar Report Snapshots.

Take a Report Snapshot before installing new plugins, or before implementing performance recommendations. Take another snapshot when you are finished and compare your results to measure the effect of your changes.

= Add/Import Custom URLs =

Easily add additional URLs for inclusion in Pagespeed Reports. Even add URLs for non-WordPress sites, even if they are not hosted on your server. URLs can be added manually, or upload a properly formatted XML sitemap to add multiple pages at once.

Custom URLs can be tagged and filtered in Report Summaries. Take Report Snapshots of your Custom URLs just like you would with any other report type.

= Scheduled Report Checks =

Configure Google Pagespeed Insights for WordPress to automatically recheck your site on a Daily, Weekly, Bi-Monthly, or Monthly basis.

With each scan, any new pages or posts will be discovered, and existing reports will be updated to reflect any changes to your site, as well as any changes in the Pagespeed recommendations.

The new version of this plugin has interface layout issues in the back end – it’s basically showing HTML from the “Styles” configuration section onwards, i.e.:

After v3.0 update, not linking pages at all

Aloha,

Shortly after installing the v3.0 update, I noticed that all of my Insert Pages links had stopped working. I have several header pages with different content and a single “core” page that I link to each header page. This has been working perfectly for months but now I see the header page duplicated and the “core” content is not showing.

I tried removing and re-installing the plug-in but no change. I’m using WordPress v4.4.

Please tell me what I can do to get this working again.

updated to V3.0 i am lost…
There is no description how to use it. The linked video is very old.

I absolutely have no clue how to use it…
Export and Import is also lost?

A Screenshot for how to add to page would be very helpful.

Maybe I will have to find the page at conditions?
If so, at least an alphabetic order should be available. If you have hundred pages, you will search and search…

Does not retain settings

Just a heads-up – when updating to V3.0.0, the previous settings are not retained. This will cause post formatting issues (paragraphing removed), unless you select and re-save your (previous) settings. Thanks.

Coauthor Sort Order Lost in 3.1 or 3.2

As I noticed in another post, which should have been named “3.1/2 Does Not Work,” the sort order of the coathors is not working post v3.0.

I confirmed this by rolling back to v.3.0 from v.3.2.

I think you should consider holding 3.2 back if you determine it is where all of these errors were introduced as it has caused major problems for me and I’m sure many others.

But since I have upgraded to WP version 3.0 with network support, all my English language posts have become inaccessible to the users. You can go to https://www.eveliensnel.com/blog, but WordPress will take you to https://www.eveliensnel.nl/blog instead.
What am I doing wrong???
