Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at acceptym.ipowermysql.com . This could mean your host’s database server is down.
* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?
wp-config.php file. I changed my DB host a few times trying to solve the problem… Hasn’t worked yet… Maybe I have not found the right one… localhost did not work.

jquery.color.js
jquery.dimensions.min.js

When I try to upload these files from my FTP client (Cyberduck), I get the following error: “Permission denied”
When I try to upload using vDeck, I get this error message:
For security reasons, only files of type ‘asp aspx bas cfm cgi css csv doc dwf gif gz htm html ico inc jpeg jpg js mdb pdf php php3 php4 php5 pl pm png ppt py shtm shtml sql swf tar txt wav wmv xls xml zip’ can be uploaded
I can upload the files my renaming them: example, jquery.color.js renamed to jquery_color.js. But, when I try to revert to the original file name, I get another error message:
You cannot rename a file with this name. (.)
You must rename the file so that you use only letters of the alphabet and/or numbers. No spaces or other characters are allowed
I have contacted the support team, and they don’t seem to know how to resolve the problem.
I’ve explained the problem to the support team just as I’ve explained it here, yet they keep interpreting this as a simple “can’t upload a file” problem. Any help would be appreciated.
]]>StartLogic “transitioned” my website from vdeck 1.0 to 3.0 and now my WP 2.3 site is completely hosed. I have been talking with their customer support for several days now, and it is starting to occur to me that they will not be able to fix the problem they caused. Frankly, I am not even sure what they did.
As of now, my website (www.klosterheim.com) shows text, but none of this works: images, links, css.
Is there a way I can do some kind of re-install of WordPress that will undork my website while keeping my exceptionally witty content?
Thanks
]]>I’m trying to install a wordpress blog for a company. They are using Ipowerweb which relies on vdeck. Yuck.
So when I try to install the WP script from vdeck, it prompts me for a directory path. I just want it to go in the main directory ie; www.domain.com/
but unfortunately, it prompts me to create a path like, www.domain/main
I don’t want this because if someone types in domain.com then they will see the root directory instead of the site/blog.
How do i fix this issue on vdeck so that the wordpress blog shows up in the root directory. I’m so used to Fantastico and cpanel that vdeck is too wierd for me.
]]>I uploaded WordPress to the remote folder, created the MySQL database, modified the config file and went to run the www.AfricaProject.net/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php file and I keep getting a 404 error. I made sure that my db, uname and pwd were set correctly in the config file, and I found nothing wrong. (I have kept “localhost”). Does anyone know what could be causing the 404 error? Because VDeck is the hosting platform, it appears to be reading the intall and config files remotively, but I keep getting this error.
This is the 2nd wordpress site I’ve done. The first one went fine, running it on the GoDaddy servers. Help!
Thanks in advance,
Parker
