How can I Download the Previous Version?

I can’t get UpdraftPlus to work on a new site. It won’t let me connect to Google Drive. No errors, it just keeps making me retake the tour.

Rolling back and forward between versions

Currently, we use the free version of UpDraft to backup our website. Can I use that to roll back to a previous version of our website and then forward to the current version? Or would I need to use something else in WP? A colleague was working on the website this week and, in rolling back to an old version of the site, some of the work I carried out yesterday has disappeared. I would like to try to go back to that moment to take a screenshot of my work and then forward again so that I can re-do it more easily. Thanks in advance.

Feature Request:

It would be great if the wordpress developers would add a version history in the menu editor (appearance > menus).
A client of mine accidently deleted a very large, complicated menu.
We had to use waybackmachine to retrieve how it was set up, wich was quite the hassle, the website also has lots of pages, and our hosting service doesn’t make back-ups.

there is not changelog for 3.9 version?

Is there any way to restore deleted Media Library pictures so that I can put them back into old blog posts??? My blog is https://saltoftheheart.wordpress.com/

I accidentally deleted most of my pictures from my media library because it told me I was running out of space – I did not realize that doing this would delete them out of all my published blog posts!!! I am in full on panic mode. I’ve spent the past couple months really cultivating my blog (aka my child) and now I literally feel like I’ve poured my heart into this blog that has been yanked right out of my chest! Now, there are just huge chunks of blank space where my pictures used to be, that really told the story of my blog.

I have tried to accept the fact that this was my utterly stupid mistake and have been trying to round up hundreds of pictures anywhere from my phone to my computer to individually put back into each blog post, but I realized that there are tons of pictures I simply don’t have anymore because I thought they were safe on WordPress alone. I have read other forum topics to see if it’s possible to restore any of the pictures, but I’m unsure as to if it’s a clear yes or no. I have also tried to use websites like Wayback Machine to see if I can view my blog from just a few days ago to get back the pictures, but it hasn’t worked.

I am desperate for any help/advice/guidance on what I can do to save my blog! Is there a server somewhere that I can pull an older version of my blog from?? It has become so important to me.

Many things we fixed/made better. v1.4 should be available in a couple of days:

– Enhancement: added an example of Tiny Forge child theme. This will make easy for users to modify the look of their website and retain the changes after update of parent theme. It will also encourage users to start experimenting with the child theme idea. (inc/tinyforge-child-theme-example.zip)

– Enhancement: display custom headers for posts and pages even if main header is disabled. Custom headers for posts and pages are assigned as a “Featured Image”. This changes default behaviour, when removing header image (Admin Panel Menu > Appearance > Header) would disable header globaly.

– Enhancement: changed get_template_directory_uri() (%s) to get_stylesheet_directory_uri() (%2$s) in custom-header.php. This plays role in defining location of the default header images. It will make life easier for child theme creators, who can replicate default header images folder and replace default images with custom ones.

– Enhancement: updated tinyforge.pot file for better localization.

– Enhancement: updated code comments to reflect WP inline docs standards (via Twenty Twelve – https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/25256 ).

Versioning of drafts

When writing a blog, I like to create and save versions of drafts before publication. That way I can go back to earlier versions if I’ve edited out something that I later wish I hadn’t. I now do this by creating a new draft and copying/pasting the title, content, excerpt, and categories from the previous draft. It’d be easier if there was a “rollover” feature where one click could just “1-up” a version number and leave the rest unchanged. Note that the present version history that is available in WordPress does not do what I’m looking for. I don’t want a history of every save. I just want a history of several versions along the path to a final post.

Missing "Revisions" checkbox in "Show on Screen" panel

I recently upgraded to WordPress 3.3.1 and now, I am unable to see revision history for all of my posts and pages. Not sure if it is related to the WP upgrade or to any plugins that I may have installed/uninstalled in the last week.

The ability to view version history is supposed to be toggled by the “Revisions” checkbox in the Screen Options. However, my Screen Options does not have a checkbox named “Revisions”.

Is there any way to reset the Screen Options panel to get the Revisions checkbox to reappear? Or is there an easy database value that I can update to get Revisions (version history) re-enabled?
