I just found out this morning that WP Vidavee disabled service on December 29, 2008. The plugin download here provides a link to retrieve the FLV files, but it just goes to a page that tells me to remove the plugin.

I wasn’t given any notice of this happening, or I would have taken care of it a few months ago – I have a couple of clients who were actually using this plugin on their sites – one of them it was THE content on their site (the plugin was their choice, not mine) – so now all of their content is completely gone.

Does anyone know of a way to get these videos back? I’d like to retrieve them, but the link provided is dead. Is there some other way of obtaining them?

Hi,

I’m one of the 7120 people who downloaded WP-Vidavee Plugin for streaming video on my blog.

We’ve just been notified the vidavee is supsending all service on the 19th Dec…. ie TOMORROW !!!!!!!!!

Can anyone recommend and alternative (free) streaming video plugin/service other than youtube.

Have the_excerpt display like the_content

I previously asked if it was possible to use custom fields to display a vidavee video to display singularly in my sidebar but got no answers, so I am now wondering if it is possible to have the_excerpt display content as if it was called by the_content?

Basically I want to be able to show a vidavee video by itself in my sidebar without the rest of the entry text that surrounds it. So is there a way for me to have the_excerpt (or even a custom field) to display as if it was the_content?

I’m using the wp-vidavee plugin to upload and show videos on my blog. I want to display one video in my sidebar that I have uploaded via vidavee. So I tried to do this using custom fields, but nothing worked – just the code to call the video displayed (which looks like this – {vidavee id=”3228″ w=”320″ } )

I want that code that vidavee uses to display the video in my sidebar. Is there a way for me to have my custom fields translate that code as if I was using the_content()?

Vidavee has just released a video plugin that allows for upload, transcode & management of video content within the wp editor. Simple to install and possibly the smallest video embed codes out there.

Example: {vidavee id=”378″ }

That’s all the code you need for a video appear in your post.
