Video in a blog

I want to start a new and different(for me) blog. I wanted to use a lot of video media and audio. I obviously don’t know what I am doing and have reached a road block already by being limited in space.

Can you direct me to a book or tutor that can get me started. My previous
blogs were mostly text. I want to go in a new direction with more video media. I thought Power Press might help.

I really would appreciate some direction.

Ok, here goes! I’m looking for a video player that will have a frozen image displayed before it’s played…just like youtube. My goal is to give subscribers on my website the ability to upload their own videos, and during that process the still image is added automatically for them. I want the process to be as seamless as possible. KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. lol

I really like the JW Player. It functions great! However, it’s to complicated for a subscriber to use-uploading a separate image to serve as a still. Once again, KISS.

I’m trying Cincopa right now. They save a frame of your video just the way I need, but once again, it’s a step that takes the subscriber away from my site.

I’d really appreciate any advice or direction anyone can give me. Thank you in advance!

My father is 75 years old and enjoys using his laptop PC. He is fluent with web surfing and emailing, but that’s about it.

He would like to create a series of videos using his webcam for family history etc. I will create the page for him.

Does anyone know if there is a plugin that would enable him to record a video session on his webcam, which would then be automatically posted to the page?

i want build video blog and have problem:
i can not upload all video to host and want put files in pc (always connected) after users click to play video file upload from my computer not from host or other links up from my computer.

i don’t know this is possible or not ?
if this is possible please tell me how ? and plugins for this.

How to show videos from subdomain wordpress install to main blog home page

My main blog is at https://www.environmentabout.com and I have a video section at a subdomain wordpress installation at https://video.environmentabout.com

I want to show recent videos from videos blog on main blog. If you see my video blog, there is a content carousal which slides the recent video posts with thumbnails and the title of the video.

I want a similar content carousal on my main blog home page which can show recent video posts from my video blog installed in subdomain.

I searched for a plugin that can do this by importing rss from the subdomain install, but no plugin has the feature I require.

How can I show the recent video posts from my subdomain to the home page of main blog?

customizing the Structure theme for Video Functionality

I am using the free versoin of the Structure Theme.

And i dont want to use 69 USD for the premium theme.

i can see that the Video Functionality is not in the free version of this theme – and i guess thats why i cant view my youtube links at my front page blog.

QUESTION:
How can i enable this “Video Functionality” ?
Do i need to do some custom code? if yes, can someone help with this?

eVid Theme Featured Slider

I was using the eVid Theme for a project that I was working on and for some reason I couldn’t get the Featured Slider to work. I checked out the Elegant Themes support forum and found out that there is no support for this pretty common issue. Well there is a quick solution to solve this problem. Create a Category “Featured Article” and apply it to your video post. Works like a charm!

I am working on a major revision of my video blog and I made it so that 20 posts appear on a page, each within a table of five rows, with 4 columns each. I was curious if there is an easy way to make it so that images for the related video are within the link to lead to the post. Clearly I need something automated because editing each page every day would become a hassle. Is there an image property for a post though? Or a way that I can make it so that an image is related to each post?
