Sometimes when opening a new page, the Welsh version briefly flashes up, before reverting to the English language version. Any suggestions?

Also, we have a video embedded on the homepage – I’d like to swap it with a translated version on the Welsh language site. Is there a way of doing that? I’ve tried both embedded YouTube videos and media directly uploaded onto WordPress, but neither way gives me the option to swap the video for the translated version.

The Welsh .mo and .po files that come with the plugin use the language code suffix (the-events-calendar-cy.mo) not the locale. However, even when I uploaded the compiled version in the WordPress repositry and renamed this using the locale (the-events-calendar-cy_GB.mo), it still doesn’t work. I’ve placed this file under the wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang folder. I’ve also tried copying the file to the wp-content/languages/plugins folder, with no avail.

Even though the translation is incomplete, relevant bits that show up on the front end are complete.

Any thoughts on what may be going wrong?

Is it possible to get a translation for the calendar in Welsh please?

My site is multilingual (Welsh and English) and I’d like to be able to switch back and forth between the two calendars.

What I need is to have a single button in the header that users can flip between English and Welsh (Cymraeg).

I just tried a translator widget (Multilanguage by BestWebSoft) this has Welsh in it, it appears as a drop down menu which I’ve only been able to add in a page.

I’m using Tyler’s Tesseract theme so he does have buttons in the header which at the moment I’ve removed, would it be possible to convert one of these?

Don’t know if they use a translating machine or write two websites in both languages.

If anyone has done this or have ideas of the best way to approach it that would be a big help.

I have Qtranslate plus setup and working on WordPress 4.1.1 – I’m using it for a English [EN] and Welsh [CY] website

As Welsh [CY] wasn’t installed by default, I created a custom language via the “Add Language” using these details:

Language Code: cy
Flag: cy.png (which I’ve replaced, this flag wasn’t the welsh dragon?)
Name: Welsh
Locale: ??? This is whats confusing me…. (added “cy” so the system would except it)
Date Format: %A %B %e%q, %Y
Time Format: %I:%M %p

I noticed when playing with the plugin, if I have Chinese active, it updates the backend text – I’m assuming thats what the Locale does???

Could anyone give me a hand adding the Welsh Locale – I already have both the wp-4.0.x-cy.mo and wp-4.0.x-cy.po files from https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp/4.0.x

Looking for abit of advice, i’ve been asked to put together a Multilingual WordPress Site for English / Welsh users. I don’t need the content translated, the client is going to do that themselves – Could anyone give me the best way to achieve this / Some examples of your Multilingual WordPress setups.

* Is there a dedicated plugin for this?
* Is it just a case of using custom content types and calling them depending on which language is selected?

Unfortunately my events calendar seems to be almost exclusively in English, the only slight exception being the actual event titles.

The days, months, events page heading, sub headings and everything else is all exclusively in English.

I see in the plugin files there is a ‘languages’ folder containing a load of .po and .mo files for several languages – but no Welsh (cy).

Any suggestions as to how I can get the plugin to be fully bilingual? It’s a really lovely plugin, I’d hate to have to stop using it as apart from the language issue it does everything I need it to do…

The setup we’re working on is:

WPMU on dedicated managed server.

Site #1: (EN_GB) + English Blog

Site #2: (CY_GB) + Welsh Blog.

Would the Guided Transfer help with Blog transfer for this setup? “Help” as in won’t need to pay twice to Transfer over to both Site?

You see, currently we have ENG/WELSH on one Post, for the sake workflow, it’d be easier to Transfer the blog into each site separately. I’m assuming there will be 2 Author accounts, same author, two accounts for both Site?
