Sidebar content keeps disappearing

This is not an issue with “custom sidebars.” It’s a problem with content inside the sidebars that came with the theme.

For some of the pages in my site, I have added either text or html widgets to the Primary or Secondary sidebars. For each of them, I’ve made them only visible on those specific pages – like upcoming events in a specific topic, or an imbedded chat function on our Live Stream page.

Every few weeks for the past few months, that content just randomly disappears. I can’t say what triggers it. I thought maybe it was related to the most recent two WP updates, but today I found them disappeared again, in the absence of an update. I had to scramble to get the chat back up and running 5 minutes before our live stream started this morning. Not fun!

The widgets do not go to the inactive widgets area, they are just gone. Gone Gone Gone.
Getting tired of having to recreate them over and over.

Why is this happening, and how can I prevent it from happening in the future? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!

Side Bar Widgets Vanish in Pages

I recently updated wordpress to 4.4 and using Twenty Fourteen as the theme. Since the upgrade when you view any pages created by Radio Station 2.1.3 the sidebars are present but all widgets on both sidebars just VANISH. Leave the age and return home or to any other page or post that wasn’t create by Radio Station and the widgets magically reappear. I have tested this with other themes and the results are pretty much the same.

Right Sidebar (Widget Area) Disappears When Click On Post

As the title suggests, the right sidebar widget area disappears when I click on the individual posts. The widget sidebar area appears and works correctly when I’m on the homepage and when I click on different menus. However, upon clicking the post, it disappears altogether and without it, well, it muddles my design up.

How can I make it so the right sidebar permanently stays there no matter what you click on on the website?

I am using the enterprise-lite theme.

Widget Disappears

Trying to use this, the widget simply disappears. At first i thought the plugin just wasn’t working because nothing displays on the site in the widget area, but returning to the widget area admin shows them gone. In fact the first time you view widget admin, yhe didbar area itself is gone consistently. A refresh brings it back, but not your widgets.

The plugin worked elsewhere on a quick test, so we turned off 100% of the plugins and tried the WP Twenty Ten theme and the behavior is the same. Very puzzled – any ideas?

Widgets Disappear when Allow This Sidebar To Be Replaced

All my Widgets and Sidebars disappear when I clicked the Allow This Sidebar To Be Replaced in the Custom Sidebar plugin see image below:

Widgets disappear, plugins "appear" to not be there, yet cannot reinstall

This is the third time this has happened to my site. The first time, I had to completely start over. Last time, I was able to find other plugins that were like the ones I had originally, so could install them. I don’t know what to do this time. Has anyone else had their plugins and widgets disappear in a second? It must be a bug. I don’t think it’s my computer, though I know that’s a possibility. I was originally hacked at the end of September, early October and it had a re-direct to porn for anyone trying to access my site by iphone. This is why I had to completely start over. Now, just the plugin and widget wipe out. Help! I’m a charity for pediatric brain tumors. I do everything myself and I’m not very good–it took weeks of my time to sort this last one out.

Plugin disables Widgets Area

Hello, I installed this plugin on the most recently version of WP and it’s a new install. When using the plugin, the Widget areas on the right are gone? The available widgets are there but the sidebars are gone completely. When I disable the plugin, the sidebars come back. I saw this thread – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/nimbit-plugin-disables-widget-page, but they didn’t post what the resolution was. We’d really like to use this, but it’s not playing well with us. Thank you.

Widgets Wont Appear in Homepage and Posts Disappear – Twenty Ten Theme

Hello,

I have been running the twenty ten theme for a while now.

But for the past couple weeks, the widgets on the side and a few posts won’t appear on my home page. They appear when I go to another page though.

Most blog posts appear but some disappear. The blog posts that disappear on the home page will appear at first, for a few seconds, and then will disappear…

I have been trying to change the theme to see if that helps, but the same problem occurs with most of them. The widgets have appeared in one or two different themes on the home page, but not the posts that disappeared. And I really like the way everything is set up in Twenty Ten so I don’t want to change it, but only want to fix it.

The problems are the same even when I change computers…

Any suggestions?

Problem using Spanish Characters

I have a website (www.golyfutbol.com) in Spanish. It was working fine and today it has a problem using spanish characters. No updates done, no nothing (went to bed working fine, this morning had serious issues). It simply decided that instead of saying “opinión” y would say “opini?3n”. The same issue for every spanish character (?, ó,á, etc).

Checked for support and found that it might be a problem with the line in WP-CONFIG.PHP like this
Instead of
define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
it should read
define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf-8’);
[note the dash before the 8].

That worked, and my posts can now be read. But when looking at the dashboard or the tweet app (or essentially anything else) the problem remains.
Moreover, the widgets were in a left column sidebar. By themselves, they changed to the right and some simply dissapeared.

I would really appreciate any help. I am no expert, but I am trying to learn. My theme is Elbee Elgee. Thank you.
