How to reduce some database tables in wordpress that are too large

My client ecommerce site was compromised back in November, we restored the entire website and updated all plugins again and WordPress version and cleaned it up.

Website is working great now.

I’m trying to get full backups working so I have a full backup for peace of mind. I’ve had issues doing full backups. I’m using backupbuddy and I’ve tried 2 other backup plugins.

The backup plugin people said the database is too large.

I’m wondering, if the website was compromised previously and all malicious files were removed, could they have infected the database also? As I’m not familiar with where else will be affected etc?

What should I be looking for in the database where things can be injected into database causing some directories to be larger than usual?

I am looking at different database tables in the current website, which the backup guy said these tables should not be that huge.

The eCommerce site has over 4000 products but but he said certain tables even with that amount of products shouldn’t be that large.

I don’t know about you, but if you’ve tried other database cleaners you quickly discover that you don’t have enough information to decide if you can safely delete a table, or an entry in a table, or, well anything.

This is not like the other plugins because you are able to see exactly what you are deleting and what plugin or function it belongs to. This is common sense and it’s what you would expect, but for some reason, other plugins don’t have this level of data, and that make all of the difference in the world.

I never leave reviews for stuff like this but I’m hoping that people who were frustrated as I was, will be thankful when they stumble upon this great plugin. I personally always found it annoying with other plugins trying to figure out what I was actually deleting so I actually appreciate that somebody took the time to create a useful plugin.

Anyway, i highly recommend this to anyone who wants an easy to use database plugin, that’s well laid out, and it actually shows you what it’s associated with the table/entry before you delete it.

Thanks for making something that’s useful and does what it claims to do.

WP Staging double our database

WP Staging created two copies of its database files as soon as we updated to WordPress 6.2. We are having to create a staging site and then delete the duplicates. FastComet hosting service have been helping us.

Probs maybe investigate this?

WP Dashboard Menu keeps routing me to “All Posts” page

In WP > Dashboard Menu:

I click on Pages > All Pages and instead of bringing me to a list of all my pages, WP brings me to “All Posts”.

Same thing happens when I try to get to Products. WP brings me back to the “All Posts” page.

I recently upgraded to 6.1.1 and I am using Chrome browser on a Mac.

Help, please, I can’t get any work done!

WordPress Query Removes ‘$’

I am trying to get the hashed password from my database to a variable and verify it to make sure that the password the user entered is correct. When I get the password from the database all the ‘$’ signs are removed. This is what I use to get the password from the database:

$output = $wpdb->get_row( $wpdb->prepare( "SELECT * FROM profile WHERE Name ='$name';" ) );
$hashedPass = $output->Password;

why where is no AUTO INCREMENT parameter for the PRIMARY KEY in table wp_lightbox_photoswipe_img in database table column imgkey?

I have php error log mistake: “WordPress database returned error Duplicate entry ‘…..’ for key ‘PRIMARY’ in response to INSERT INTO wp_lightbox_photoswipe_img (imgkey, created, ….”

I try to repair the site database by adding this line on wp_config.php

but this table shows the main problem, I hope somebody can help me with it.

How to use WordPress database for creating new non WordPress site

I have WordPress site developed using plugins (bbpress + buddypress). The website has now grown too large, also, vision for further enhancing User Experience and Features can not be met with WordPress modules.

I like to use developers to build new site from scratch with completely different front-end (non-wordpress).

We have large amount of users/posts in existing WordPress site that we will need to import into new non-wordpress site. How to do that? Can all databases from wordpress sites be exported into SQL tables which can be used my MySQL in new site?
