WordPress sites and admin running slow

I have a wordpress hosted blog with a custom domain name. I noticed about two weeks ago that my site and the WordPress admin were both running very slowly. I have asked other folks who also wordpress about their experiences and have heard them complain about the same issue.

The only time wordpress runs a bit faster is during off hours (middle of the night, very early in the morning).

This is in stark contrast to my previous experience with WordPress — I’m thinking, a month ago to be safe — where page loading times were not an issue and my website zipped along.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Running extremely slow

Hi all.

I’m desperate for some help regarding my WordPress site.

My site is running really really slow, almost impossible to work from my control panel.

I run on the Genesis framework along with a child theme. I have about 15 plugins running, tried to disable them one at the time, but had no effect.

I installed the w3 cache plugin and has set it up to work perfectly.
I contacted my host to know if I needed a better solution with them, but they said that my webhotel/domaine product is all fine.

They suggested that it might be something in my codes that causes WordPress to run this slow, but I can’t tell.. That’s sort of the reason why I chose WordPress, because I don’t know much about codes:-)

So I was hoping that maybe some of you expert would look on my site and see if you can locate something?

site running slow errors on theme check

My site was installed about a week ago and i am first time wordpress user. The site is running slower and slower. editing and updating then preview is starting to take longer. It takes a long time to load on all browsers and iPhone. I have read some posts of others with same problem. i do not understand the languaging used such as how to edit php files. The theme check showed quite a few errors. I have un installed plug-ins that were installed around the time i noticed problem. just to see if that was problem. Delete cache but as stated i do not understand back end coding. I am use to using rapid weaver

WordPress freezing or running slow frequently

Ever since I have building a website (not a blog) using WordPress a few months ago I have been having a lot of trouble with WordPress freezing or running very slow (this has carried through to my website performance as well). What will happen is that it when I try to click on one of my posts it will just refuse to go there (or take forever in doing so). However, when I click on one of my other posts it will load that page immediately. Then when I go back to the post that wouldn’t load in 5 minutes it will load. The same sorts of issues seem to happen with anything I try to do on WordPress which makes building a website extremely frustrating. More of an issue though is that the website itself has similar sorts of problems, which is a real concern considering I am trying to run on business on it. Can anyone help?

PS. I am using the following plugins: Google XML Sitemaps, Platinum SEO Pack, and TinyMCE Advanced. My hosting company is Hostgator.

WordPress running slow – both site and admin

My site www.top10films.co.uk has been running slower than usual over the last few days. Sometimes it loads fine, but frequently the site will hang for several seconds before loading in pieces.

I have contacted my web provider to ask if it is a problem with their sever. They say everthing is running fine and that the cause is to do with WordPress not updating correctly when I auto-updated to WordPress 3.0.1. But the auto-update said everything was updated correctly.

Now, however, if I try to reinstall through auto-update it doesn’t work – nothing happens, it just hangs. Same with plugins – if I deactivate or activate the screen will go blank – if I use my browser back button and refresh the page it shows that the action has been initialized okay but it’s obvious there’s a problem there.

My site has seen a 50 per cent drop in traffic over the last two days with the problems with the site. I have optimized database, installed hyper-cache, used Mozilla Firebug to check if any file in particular is causing the problem but I can’t seem to solve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
