What the portfolio post template should show:
https://demo.graphpaperpress.com/workaholic/2010/06/08/aenean-gravida/
What I see for every single post (blog and portfolio) instead:
https://demo.graphpaperpress.com/workaholic/2010/05/14/ut-ut-lacus-sapien/
I thought this might be an issue with the permalinks, but now I’m not so sure. I set this up using the second permalink option, which shows year/month/date/postname. Presently I have the ending of the blog url to show up as category/blog just like in the demo by Graph Paper Press. I got a developer friend to help me make a writable .htaccess file to upload to my FTP as one isn’t automatically generated, but if any changes are made to the permalink section, it’s still asking me to update the .htaccess file. I tried downloading the file from my server, and while it claims it downloaded, I literally cannot see the file anywhere. (I recognize that it’s a hidden file, but why it would still stay hidden on my desktop is beyond me.)
I figured out how to get the thumbnails on the homepage and the portfolio pages (using the Theme Options section), but when you click on those thumbnails, they still take you to a blog post instead of a portfolio post. I tried uploading only landscape photos, sometimes inserting them into the post and sometimes following GPP’s instruction not to insert them into the post. No matter what, they don’t show up and the wrong template loads. Along these same lines, it would be nice if the parent category that the portfolio pages fall under would load any of these portfolio pages too, instead of a list of blog posts. This is how GPP’s demo treats the portfolio section, and yet it’s not loading that way for me.
Can anyone help? This is maddening!
]]>The theme loops through the posts to make the thumbnails on the front page and gives them links to the posts. I just don’t know how to change this loop for one post.
If I try to just rename the permalink for said post it removes the extra slash in /category/blog.
Any ideas?
]]>I am creating a website for a friend. She wants the main page to be the following image: https://robynalatorre.com/wp-content/themes/workaholic/images/Homepage_image.jpg
with the relevant links and such overlaid on it.
I like the work-a-holic theme for the rest of the layout, though.
Would I just create a splash page of some sort? How do I do this without screwing up the rest of the site?
Thanks!
]]>‘#header {margin-top: 100px;margin-bottom: 100px;}’
to this:
‘#header {margin-top: 100px;margin-bottom: 100px; background:url (https://albino-monkey.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/AlbinoMonkeyHeader.gif)}’
But all that happened was a tiny part of the image showed up. How do i make the location bigger
Thanks in advance

]]>I’m using the Work-a-holic theme, and for some reason the top menu won’t show on my site. I’ve set up two pages and divided my ‘posts’ into two categories: portfolio and blog. There are supposed to be three menu items on top: ‘over’ ‘c.v.’ and ‘blog’. Everything has to be set up right, but maybe I’m missing something?
The URL to my site is: www.michielstax.nl
Hope someone can help me with this!
]]>Does anyone know how to get rid of the text right in the middle of the homepage that says:
“Hi! We design beautiful websites. Not just beautiful but usable websites. Be sure to check out what I have done and contact us if you want to improve yours as well.”
I assumed this was a widget, but apparently not.
Also, does anyone know how to get rid of the widgets at the bottom of the homepage and inside the website altogether? I would rather have a cleaner site with my portfolio work (minus all the ‘latest news’ stuff at the bottom).
As far as I can figure, the only way to get rid of the initial descriptive widget text at the bottom of the page (about how to edit widgets 1, 2 and 3) is to replace it with other widgets.
However, my main issue here is getting rid of all that text right in the middle of the page.
Any help would be fab!!!
Thanks

I’ve tried a fresh install of WordPress and the theme and database – with no luck.
I followed the install instructions for the theme and thought leaving the image height blank could be the issue, but adding a value here doesn’t help resolve this.
Any help you can offer would be great.
Any suggestions on how to get them working like on the demo site?
As well, is there a way to exclude the thumbnail image from a post’s set of images? Work-a-holic doesn’t operate from an ‘insert gallery’ directive. It simply uses all the images associated with the post in the portfolio slider, including any thumbnails.
Thanks in advance…
