I found out that the table wp_comments in database includes a huge amount of what it seems to be automatic comments from woocommerce, with contents such as “payment accepted” or “Order status changed from In progress to Completed”…
I want to make sure that those comments could be deleted safely, in order to cleanup my database.
Thanks for your help.
I added two plug ins, and since then have had some big issues.
I added WP Recipe Maker and wpDiscuz – to include ratings in the recipe template, and have a more interesting comment field with ratings. However, in setting up wpDiscuz, it noted that would not work with Jetpack installed (and I noticed I had two comment fields from each plug in). So, I deactivated Jetpack, and things appeared ok.
However, I then realized the comments were only working on the one post I was editing, and no comments at all were appearing on other posts. Since then, I have deactivated all related plug ins (Jetpack, wpDiscuz and WP Recipe Maker) thinking it would then return to the WP native comments function. I also worked through every discussion area to enable comments (including on pages and posts, and in dashboard settings/discussions)… but no comment field ever returned anywhere on the site. I then tried reactivating he other plug ins – separately, together, different combos… and in all cases no comments ever show up again.
My theme is Elara (free).. I find it very odd and frustrating that after deactivating and deleting other plug ins, the WP native comment function is gone.
anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for your time!
I don’t have any CSS skills but would like to improve the appearance of the comments on the following page: https://druzal.com/employer/epson/
For guests/unlogged users only, I need to remove “1 thought” to “5:24 pm” and “Leave” to “comment.” from every page like the above.
How is this done with CSS code?
Kind regards,

Me again … back with another feature request.
I was wondering if you would be willing to look into making NotificationX WPML compatible. Reason I am asking is that in my case where I use the WP Comments, comments from all languages are going eveywhere.
Which is not that desired as not all people are multi-lingual when it comes to Dutch and English.
Hope this is something you can look into in the future.
Best regards,
Patrick Dankers
I’ve a problem with the plugin.
I disabled and removed the plugin. It still keeps active and want to put new queries in de WP comments section.

has anyone worked out something yet wich makes the badges showing up in the regular WP comments?
Thank you in advance
The only place where I’ve intended for reCAPTCHA to work is within CF7 forms.
So… Does reCAPTCHA inadvertently also work for WP comments as well just by having this plugin installed? Because having the badge show up on every single page expresses that this is the case.
I’m about to remove the badge with CSS, ’cause it’s ugly and will thus be adhering to Google’s rules to add the following under every contact form submit button:
This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
I need to know if reCAPTCHA is also working for comments as well now so that I can apply the same statement above to the comment box. Also, since it collects data in some form for traffic analysis, it’s also something that I need to consider for the GDPR plugin disclaimer copy.
Otherwise, the default site-wide reCAPTCHA badge is pretty much a lie that users will see when commenting, which is not something I’d like to happen when transparency with the user/audience is growing in value.
Thanks for any help in this matter!
Many times I’ve (re)activated:
1) Settings > Discussion settings: “[ ]Allow people to post comments on new articles”
2) Screen Option > “[ ] Discussion” & [ ] Comments / “Allow Comments”
3) Allow people to post comments on new articles
Also, I have deactivated all plugins .. Even deleted all cash (from browser).
Why (even) WP (implicit) Comments – is not working?
Then I’ve tried with (installing):
a) Disqus Comment System
b) Comments – wpDiscuz
c) and other 2
In various forums similar reported problems – had old and/or not clear enough solutions.
Please help: I’ve recently moved to WP and created a new site. Over (other) 10 plugins – worked well.
I assume that I am skipping something very simple / obvious ..
This is a site page to which I try to add Comments (from WP core or via any other plugins) https://snagov.ro/centre/centru-biodiversitate/
