Today I was working on a couple of sites for a client and found that back on July 20 the backups started failing on one site. When I went into the backup dashboard I was greeted with a bunch of error messages stating that the “backwpup-cbb749-logs” and “backwpup-cbb749-temp” directories were not writable. I found a previous ticket stating to change the folder perms to 775. I tried that and it still would fail when I ran “Run Now”. The only way I could get this to run was to flip the perms to “777”, something I’m loathe to do. Previously the folder perms were 755. The other site that is successfully backing up is doing so with perms set at 755. Thoughts?
I also got a warning that .ftpquota was not readable. I’ve updated the perms on that to 644. Think it was 640 prior to my change.
Cheers,
Jeff
I want to install a duplicator backup via Xampp on Windows 11.
During migration all tests are successful, but in the end after step 4 nothing is created (440 error). I guess that is because Windows 11 doesn`t allow write permissions.
I already deactivated UAC via System and Regedit, I gave all users in folder an subfolder all permission: Nothing worked.
Is there any solution?
First about giving write permissions to uploads folder. I have checked that and thats ok.
But the message stays.
Second is
Failed to render template “settings.html”. Please ensure the template cache folder wp-content/uploads/mailpoet/cache” exists and has write permissions. Terminated with error: “Unable to create the cache directory.
It’s weird cause in this folder is already a mailpoet subfolder and cache and several other subfolders, so it has worked before.
How to solve this problem?
~/plugins/wordfence/tmp
necessary for WordFence to work properly?
I am getting this error and I am not sure if it is necessary or what I need to do to fix it. I am running wordpress on a LEMP stack (that is nginx) if that is any help. Thank you for any help you can give me.
]]>PHP Warning: copy(/PATHTOFILE/FONTNAME.ttf): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /PATHTOCONTENT/plugins/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/includes/class-wcpdf-main.php on line 368
nothing else in the logs and only 1 parameter in copy command…
Thx!

IP Geo Block: Please download ZIP file from WordPress-IP-Geo-API and upload ip-geo-api to wp-content with write permission.
So I downloaded file – uploaded it – uncompressed it – moved the contents so that ip geo is in wp-content (same as was setup before) – changed perms to 644 for folders and sub sub folders and all files – same message in dash – changed all to 666, 755, and all to 777 – still get same message in dashboard – and the button to uncheck ‘download at month’ is not click-able.. and the checkbox not clickable also.
I had this set to only check the two main DBs – and the other ones where http lookups would be needed were all un-checked.

The error message I am getting is:
The file system directory seems to be unwritable. Please adjust it. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, please contact PeepSo support here.
I’ve tried both the NAS full URL (below) and just the /wp-content/uploads/2016/ paths without luck.
/nas/content/live/bwchat/wp-content/uploads/2016
Has anyone managed to get this installed on either WPE or Dreamhost and if so what was your path?
Thanks in advance!
Noel
we’ve come across this error.
There has been an error in ImagePro
Could not map the paths for saving the thumbs!
With this output:
wp-content/uploads/2015/04/_d_improd_ is not writable! Make sure it has write permissions (for example 777)
I’ve changed the write permissions for the uploads which has worked for now. Will this work for new image uploads and directories created by the plugin?
I would like to prevent this from happening again.
Kind regards,
Tommo23

]]>I’d like to have a WordPress site which has several pages about shopping centers. Each center will have its own page. I’d like each owner of each center to have the ability to edit their own page and nothing else. What would be the best way to give (roughly) 30 users access to each of their individual pages? Anyone can see the pages, but editing rights is restricted.
Thank you very much.

Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/google-sitemap-generator.4.0.7.1.zip…
Download failed. Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.
I recently completed a manual upgrade to WordPress 4.0. I am hosting wordpress on my own server and have complete admin access to all services and directories. I am running windows server 2003 with IIS 6.0. I have been hosting wordpress blogs on this server since 2011.
1) I have never been able to use automatic wordpress version upgrade and have always had to perform manual upgrades. But this has never been a problem before.
2) However, prior to upgrading to 4.0 I could manage all plug ins, including downloads, activate, deactivate and delete.
3) Prior to the 4.0 upgrade, I deactivated all plug in. After the upgrade, I activated all plugins. All but one or two activated without problem.
4) But now I can not update any plugin. From the wordpress ftp console I keep getting an error message stating:
Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/google-sitemap-generator.4.0.7.1.zip…
Download failed. Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.
I have changed permissions at the directory level and from within IIS. The ftp still fails. I have been working on trying to find a fix for two days. The ftp credentials are correct as I can access the directories from any other ftp client.
Are there any other wordpress test tools or anything else I can use to solve this problem. Just to reiterate, I was able to manage plugins prior to the upgrade and now I can’t. I am at a loss as to next steps.
Any help would be appreciated.
