Forum Software with “Posts hold for moderation”

Hello guys,
im looking for a possibilty to make my comments look nicer and be more comfortable. So i was looking at rs-discuss, XDForum, Vanilla, SMF and more.
Actually i dont want much of the forum software, but 1 thing i dont want to miss is a blacklist which holds the comments for moderation.

Since it doesnt show that feature on the page and i dont want to install every1 of those forums i was wondering if any1 can help me with the question.

Btw any knows if there is a nice comment-rating plugin like engadget is using it?

XDForum, a WordPress forum plug-in, stopped development a few months ago.

For anyone considering converting XDForum to BBPress, I’ve posted detailed instructions for converting XDForum tables to BBPress tables on my site. The instructions include a method for tagging your existing content.

I looked for something like this a few months ago and couldn’t find it. Hopefully, someone will find this useful. The result of the conversion can be viewed here…

I am using a virgin installation of WordPress 2.5. I installed XDforum and with some hacking got it to work just fine. But I’m wondering if anyone knows where to change the size and layout of the search headers at the top so that it fits in my theme without over lapping the box.

I’ve been looking for a way to edit the page that the XDforum uses inbetween the register link of WP and the forum page, I would like to add some addition text to this page…. https://www.urbanlivingseattle.com/wordpress/?page_id=183&xdforum_action=profile&xdf_ID=
Any ideas on where the code is to edit? It doesn’t appear as a page or a post and I can’t find it in the files on my server to edit… I’m learning PHP so is there something obvious that I’m missing?

Does anyone have a forum plugin that works with 2.2?

i have spent three weeks trying to get a forum onto my new blog.

XDForum: No option in admin to edit/add trheads/topics and the actual forum page claims it cant be displayed because that page has been deleted. “sorry the page you looking for have been deleted” couldnt get any help and when i register so i can ask for help in the forum, i never get an email with my password

WP-Forum: This one looked promising and well done, however, again with the no way of adding topics and threads. the instructions say that the options are in the ‘manage’ menu in the admin… but no dice. couldnt get any help and when i register so i can ask for help in the forum, i never get an email with my password

RS-Discuss: more of a discussion board than a forum but everything worked fine. it is just missing the option to add threads. it just has topics that people can comment on

simple-forum: everything goes fine until i try to actually view my forum and see that nothing is their. i get the title and such, but no actual forum

So i am concidering using phpBB because i understand their are plugins for wordpress intigration. How good are these plugins? will they use the same users/members from my wordpress as members of phpBB?

After a LONG time in development we have released XDForum v2. It boasts many many many improvements, from no more permalink problems, and slug administration, to using smarty for templating instead of php for output, to having theming available, and language packs.

Creating Forum in 2.1

Okay – Thanks to the retarded method of upgrading to WordPress 2.1, I destroyed everything about my first site.

Here’s the new one: www.therecshow.com

One thing I had included in my previous site was a XDForum, which installed perfectly the first time.

When I tried to install it in this new version, it wouldn’t create a “Forums” tab in the navbar like it did the first time, and when I go to the supposed page, it says “None of these posts match your criteria.”

I also tried to use WP-Forums as well, without success.

Any ideas?

I’m trying to do some simple things ( think) to cutomize my forum, but am going blind looking through the code. Does anyone know where I can increase my font sizes, specifically the titles and descriptions of different sections? The default font size seems very small.

Also, I can’t seem to get my forum off the right border of my main page, but I haven’t been able to do anything in my stylesheet or mainpage template to add some padding.
