Please help if you can…..I’m a total newbie to blogs and codes….
I just successfully installed – at least I think it was successful as that is what it said, and I could edit admin info after logging in once. HOWEVER, now – I can’t see anything when going to the index page. No error messages either. Just a blank page (as though it was white type on white background).
    What have I missed here?
    I am REALLY lost!!
My second question is this – is it safe to have the password in the config file? Can I delete this of chmod?

  • 2 – Your password is safe.
1 – Did you alter any other settings / files after logging in ?
    3 – Link ?

Is this a delete me and start over situation?

I guess you are doing something ?
It looked okay, I clicked comments and got a Error 500, clicked back and all is gone ……

    yep…deleted and started over again.
I can log in as admin- but can’t log in as any other user? Why is that?
I am trying to set up a secure blog for my family on my site….but can’t figure out how to log in as any other user beyond admin. I created several users (first name as nicknames, then completed all other fields including passwords) but I am unable to log in as me rather than admin? Why is that? It will send me password after password -but I can’t log in?
    What now?
    ARG…feeling dumber by the second…LOL

ok….ummm…once that is solved…I have another question.
Is there an easier way to access the write page after viewing besides the back button?
dur….i need to go to bed…LOL

    I right-click to View Site – it’s now an ingrained habit ??

    ty ty ty!

@chanz, the admin account always logs in as admin. I don’t know why, that’s just the way WP works (threw me for a loop the first time I started playing around with WP). However any posts that you write as admin should show up as being written by you (depends on your settings in the admin panel).

    Anyone still watching this?
Index gave me a blank stare now too, and now it seems more like a glare!
I did mess around with it though, including some links (wanted to add target_blank to a few, and just delete another few, etc.). I commented out the original lines that were complicated though. When it didn’t work, I put it back the original way [I think so], but still no go. Then I duplicated an original from my unzipped set, but this one didn’t work either (had to change the url calls in it, but that’s it).
Is there a trick to this?

It’s working again! I found a key error in the replacement page. Site and site-tinkerer both feeling better and should be out mangling more code shortly. ??
