Latest version of forminator is not obeying visibility conditions for fields when displaying the form (at least in my multi-page form)

This is a new issue not present on previous version.

    Hi @mrbleuu,

Sorry to hear about the issue.

Could you please share an export of the form so we can take a closer look at the issue?

Please find how to export a form in our documentation here: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export

You should share the export of the form using pastebin.com or Google Drive.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

hi, it appears it is occurring with ‘hidden’ field being used for visibility (i.e. using a hidden field to pass a query string).

    Here is a export: https://pastebin.com/p20kkTrt

    Password is: pAJpZpQ5Yc

    Hi @mrbleuu

    Thank you for the form.

I was able to replicate this issue and we reported it to our developers.

Since it is working in 1.17.X we suggest downgrading the plugin for now https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/forminator/advanced/

Download the previous version from the advanced page and upload to WordPress > Plugins > Add New > Upload, the WordPress itself will handle the downgrade.

We can’t give an estimated time to release the fixed version, but the 1.19 is already under development https://wpmudev.com/roadmap/#forminator and as soon as we release this version we will update our roadmap.

    Best Regards

Same issue here with current version. Rollback works.

Pretty stupid, since our whole form is made of conditions. Is there already a timeframe when the bug will be fixed? Would be very important for us.

Do you need more examples? For example, on one of our pages the visibility condition works (without hidden field), but on other pages with hidden fields it doesn’t (despite the same plugin version).

    Hi,
Just roll back to previous version using a backup or downgrading back to working version.

@thueske Here’s a link to Forminator v 1.17.2 which you can downgrade to until a patch is released – https://www.dropbox.com/s/zjodxgxv76jd9bi/forminator.1.17.2.zip?dl=0

Hi, I’m sure aakash version is fine and means well but I would strongly recommend downloading from official channels – go to bottom of this link

Thanks @mrbleuu , I didn’t know that you could download previous versions in the Advanced tab, cool!

    Hi @thueske,

Is there already a timeframe when the bug will be fixed? Would be very important for us.

I can confirm our developers are already working on this. At the moment, I’m afraid there isn’t any exact ETA we could provide. Hoping it will soon.

As stated in the previous response, the issue is more specific with hidden fields and their visibility, so no further examples are needed unless you can replicate this in other use cases without Hidden fields.

Downgrading the plugin version, for now, would be the temporary fix.

    Best Regards,
    Nithin

    Noticed it also.
I had to reselect the correct option to make the visibility work again.
The option had reverted to default (no option selected).

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

I suppose @dvwdesign meant that it was necessary to reselect options after downgrade, right?

Or it helped even on current release for you? If it’s after downgrade, it may indeed be necessary in some cases (cache related and/or due to previous/earlier bug in plugin related to lower- upper-case letters in options of select/checkbox/radio fields).

If it works without downgrade, that’d be very important information that I’d like to pass over to our Forminator Team…

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hello,
    @wpmudev-support8.
In fact it was on the current release. BUT I finally discovered another bug that may be related so I might rollback.
I have a select for payment in this form with a dozen price options and One of them (in the middle of the list!) is not working. The price is not passed to Sprite (or check/wire) in the last step whereas all the other options do work.
The form is long so it is splitter with various conditions/steps.

    Hope this helps

    Hi @dvwdesign

Thank you for response, this is very important information actually!

As for the Stripe thing: I understand you have multiple plans set in the form and they all have conditional logic set. I’m a bit surprised though that it doesn’t work for just one of the plans while it works for others. This would rather point to some issue with visibliity conditions settings.

I’ve seen the case recently (single case only) when after upgrade, some of those conditions actually got unset – like they were never there. So far, I wasn’t able to replicate and track down the actual cause of it but it’s worth checking: can you confirm that the conditions for that “failing” plan are still set there and are for sure correct (so there’s no some “logic clash”, so to say)?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

Any news here fixing the initial problem introduced with 1.18.1? ??
