Update 1.4.5 has made all my galleries disappear from their pages.

Also, can you disable lazy loading on a system wide basis rather than individual galleries?

Would you please try going to FooGallery -> Settings and click the “Clear Gallery HTML Cache” and “Clear CSS Optimization Cache”buttons and recheck your pages?

If that doesn’t work please edit a gallery and then resave it.

Let us know if they show up again.

Do you have a link to your site where we can see this?

Right now Lazy Loading can only be disabled on a per gallery basis.

    Hi @phillcoxon

All ready cleared the Cache and CSS. I have cleared all caches.

I have edited a gallery and re-saved it and still nothing is showing

I can see you are using the Autoptimize plugin which can be overly zealous when it comes to minimising javascript.

Would you please try disabling Autoptimize temporarily and see if the gallery appears?

If so you can review the Autoptimize documentation and settings to adjust the javascript minimisation so that it doesn’t break FooGallery.

If you’ve ever used the WP-Rocket caching plugin it has some great documentation on why minimisation can break javascript and how to make adjustments to fix that.

Let me know how you get on.

I will try but don’t think thats the issue. Foogallery 1.4.4 was fine as were the previous updates with Autoptimize but this update has wiped out the galleries.

    Hi @phillcoxon

Nothing changed. The galleries are still missing.

Can I redownload 1.4.4 anywhere until the issue is sorted

    Thanks

    Ok. Thanks for trying.

I’ll tag @steve our front-end expert to try and shed some light on this.

If you are using the free version of FooGallery you can rollback using the WP Rollback plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-rollback/

    Here’s an overview guide:

Please follow data safety processes and ensure you have a backup first – see the notes in the WP Rollback description.

    Hi @phillcoxon

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it doesn’t have 1.4.4 on there.

Will have to wait. I hope @steve will be along soon.

    Thanks

    Hi everybody!

I had the same problem here few minutes ago. Version 1.4.4 was working perfectly.

After update to 1.4.5 all galleries desappeared.

I tried disable Autoptimize and it worked very well.

    My galleries appeared again.

So, can I not use this plugin?Autoptimize anymore?

    My regards.

Well, you can probably work your way around the problem by excluding Foogallery’s JS from optimization, cfr. Autoptimize’s FAQ for info on troubleshooting.

    @robson – that’s great.

Yes, you can likely still use Autoptimize by tweaking the settings.

If you click on the Advanced tab you’ll have additional options:

So you could test the “try-catch wrapping” option or add the foogallery scripts to the “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize” field.

Thanks for jumping in with the suggestion Frank!

Just tried again disabling Autoptimize and the galleries reappeared!

So it appears to be a JS problem. @phillcoxon do you know the JS files Foogallery uses?

    Thread Starter The Poster Collector

    (@unknownfearless)

As a temporary measure I have added Foogallery to excluded list from Autoptimize. Thanks @optimizingmatters for a FAQ.

@robjp – Add ** plugins/foogallery, ** to the Exclude scripts from Autoptimize section.

@phillcoxon, thanks for your help and a great plugin, I use it extensively on my site. If you could add disable lazy loading on a global scale to the plugin that would be great.

    phillcoxon

    (@phillcoxon)

    @unknownfearless – you are welcome.

I’ve made a note of the suggestion for a lazy loading global setting for the team to review.

    Thanks for using FooGallery!
