“Amazon Product Preview” script problem.

  • Hi,

    I am currently using Amazon’s Product Preview script and the bottom of my foot just before </body> like amazon says to use it,but it makes the loading time of my site huge.The site loads everything quick but remains loading for a minute or so till it actually loads the amazon script and the hover over popup box starts to work.

    I have also seen it influences with some of my plugins like the Related Posts one.While the script is loading it created a msql error in the relate post area till it loads the script,then the error disappears.

    Is their anything I can do to fix this problem? or something to speed up the loading time of the product preview script? Im using K2 theme with a premade style,I really need this popup box script since I have seen it increases drastically my amazon affiliate revenue.Any Tips?

    The Amazon script conflicts with the prototype.js used in WP 2.1. I never found a solution for the problem when I tried to implement Alex King’s Share This, which also uses prototype.js. It is possible that the final 1.5.0 protoype.js (released on Jan. 18th) resolves the issue but I haven’t tried it yet.

    I found this post regarding someone else who ran ito the problem and he was using K2. https://getk2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2227.

    Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

    I’m switching to WP and I’d like to continue using the Amazon product previews on my site.

    Do any of the Amazon plug-ins work differently so that the previews are possible?

    I’m also switching from MT to WordPress and looking for the exact same thing.
