• After 2 hours surfing the forums and trying to fix this myself, I give up! Ever since upgrading to 2.1, I haven’t been able to upload images.

When I click “Upload >>” the upload.php frame flickers, and then shows up blank, still in the “Upload” tab.

The image doesn’t show up in the “Browse All” tab, and nothing gets uploaded to the server.

I upgraded to 2.1.1 to see if that would fix the problem, I set the directory permissions to 777, and I tried using the default directory, instead of the graphics/ directory that I had set up. Nope.

I also tried installing the Flexible-Upload plugin, but the problem persisted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! ??

  • I have the same problem… ??

Yep, same here… could this be a bug in 2.1?

This has been a huge frustration for me, I can’t upload images either. I have tried all methods. Arggh!

I just upgraded to 2.1.2 and it didn’t fix the problem either. On top of that, I discovered another issue, which looks to be related. I can’t add a new category!

If a moderator or programmer wants to log in to my WP install to see the problem more closely, please let me know! Thanks.

Is there any word on this? I’ve been having to upload the images via FTP and add them by hand ??

    I’m having the same problem.

I’m having the same problem. I just did all the usual fixes (upgraded to 2.2, chmoded everything to 777) but that didn’t do the trick.

It seems like there’s a problem here… any ideas?

Same thing with WP 2.2.1, IE7 and/or firefox. Anyone figure out their problem?

Fresh install of 2.2.1 on Linux w/ apache 1.3.37, MySQL 4.1.22, PHP 4.4.4 via fantastico.

Figured it out – Part Fantastico, part DNS. When I installed via fantastico it did not put the www in front of my domain name so in the sql (wp_option table, siteurl) was domain.com instead of https://www.domain.com).

On the dns side, I like to have *.domain.com redirect to https://www.domain.com – and it couldn’t figure it out..

I added the www. to it in the sql and now its working fine.

    Thanks kprojects — that works.

It appears that this problem occurs when the “siteurl” and “home” values in the wp_options table are not identical.

For example, on my site https://www.swapnyc.org, I had https://www.swap-nyc.org for one and https://www.swapnyc.org for the other. Both urls work for my site, but WP chokes (I think it’s a cookie thing) when these aren’t the same.
