After solving some other problems with the visual editor, I can’t seem to enter a hyperlink in the visual editor. When I highlite the text where I want to insert the link and and click the Hyperlink button on the toolbar, I get a blank box that I cannot close. I can insert a link in the code portion, but that doesn’t allow me to have the link open in another window. The editor worked perfectly in version 2.0, and I’m using the same browser (FF2.0) This problem also occurs in IE6 & IE7. I have overwritten my WP-includes javascript files ( I was getting a tiny-mce error message, but only occasionally) and I’m out of ideas.
Is it possible to install the VE from 2.0 in2.1.2?

I’m having the same issue… I hope there is a fix.

I just noticed that my .htaccess file is completely empty with 664 as the rule. I’m the only author of the blog, so should I change the rule to 666?

What extensions are you running on Firefox? Somehow, my IE 6.0 started to work with visual hyperlinks… so I’m tracking it down to some extension FF?

That’s funny, I was thinking about that at work today. Working on it right now.

OK, ttownfire, got it fixed. Here’s what I did.

    Entered define('DISABLE_CACHE', true); just after
    define('DB_HOST', 'unsealedprophecy.com'); // 99% chance you won't need to change this value

in my wp-config file. Went back to visual editor, hit F5 to force refresh, and it now works like a champ!

OK, here’s some additional info. I’ve got 2 blogs installed on the same server. The visual editor/insert hyperlink works on the new one, which was a clean install, new database, etc., and the one which was an upgrade does not.

Whatr would be causing this? Am I gonna have to delete the old database and create a new one, and restore all my data?

    Boy, don’t I feel stupid.

Deleted cookies from my site and my web host/server and everything works perfectly now.

    Duh.
