I’m trying to install a theme using the free 123-reg wordpress application. I keep getting this message. I have used wordpress via wordpress.com before – however with the theme I really really love I couldn’t seem to get it unless I installed it. Can you shed any light on what I’m doing wrong please? The theme I’d love to use is ‘themia-lite’. Thanks for your help in advance – here’s what the message I keep getting says:

    Downloading install package from https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/download/themia-lite.1.2.2.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Destination folder already exists. /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/sa/ll/y_/sally-yoga.co.uk/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/themia-lite/

    Theme install failed.

    Destination folder already exists.

You have already installed this theme once.

Esmi – yes, I think this is the case – however I still can’t access the theme as it’s saying that it’s a broken theme – ‘Stylesheet is missing’. Not sure what that means – do you? Thanks for your help…

    Not sure what that means

Exactly what it says on the tin. The theme is missing a critical file: style.css. If you want to try re-uploading a fresh copy of the theme, FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) and upload the theme’s folder to wp-content/themes.

where do you suggest is the best place to download the theme from? As I’m not sure why the version I downloaded last time was incomplete. Thanks for your help ??

    (@sallymc)

That probably sounds silly – but it seems strange that anything would have been missing the first time that I downloaded it from www.ads-software.com – as I didn’t make any changes or anything. Thanks again ??

Sometimes automatic downloads fail or become corrupted. Re-uploading a fresh copy of the theme’s folder from the unpacked download file should solve the problem. If not, please let us know the theme’s download url and we will look into it.

    Hi,

I just did as you said – re-downloaded and still has the same issue – it says the same thing.

This is where I downloaded it from:

    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/themia-lite

I really think I must be doing something wrong. I can’t seem to delete old files from my remote site folder (i’m using Filezilla) I wonder if that is a problem as well?

I’m sorry that I am causing all this fuss.

    Thanks for your help

I’ve just downloaded the theme and it definitely has a style.css file. How exactly are you uploading the them to your site?

I can’t seem to delete old files from my remote site folder (i’m using Filezilla) I wonder if that is a problem as well?

It could well be related. What message do you see when you try to delete files?

OK – I managed to get a bit further with it all and was happily creating my site when all of a sudden my site totally changed – and there was no formatting. Here’s what it looks like now:

    https://www.sally-yoga.co.uk/wordpress/

I can’t even get hold of a log in!!

    What do you suggest?
    Thanks

    When I put in https://www.sally-yoga.co.uk/wordpress/wp-admin

    this is what I get:

Your site seems to be working now. That could have been a temporary server problem.

    Hello Sally,

I have checked your site and all does appear to be displaying correctly now, and I can see that this theme has uploaded to your hosted files. Are you still having any issues with this?

    Regards,

    Nerys
