• I have not downloaded from CVS at wordpress before. Do I just grab the latest files? from what branch? I don’t see a 1.3 branch.
    thanks

Thanks – I take it you have already installed it? Any issues?
Do I just replace the files in my 1.2.1 install? I do have plugins that I don’t want to get rid of. Can I use the same wp-config.php with 1.3?
Sorry for all the questions. I just don’t want to break anything (not that it wouldn’t be fixable but…..)
    thanks

WP 1.3x I think is not recommended for production site, since it is not yet a stable release. Anywhow, you can give it a try, just make sure you backup your current wp files and your mysql, so if something went wrong, you have something left aside. I’ve seen many sites using 1.3x, must be quiet safe to use now.

Good advice from Arzel. Backup first and save all your wp files to another directory if you want to feel a bit more secure.
I simply deleted my current files and then reloaded the new 1.3 files. Then upgrade.php
Yes, you can use your current config file and yes you will need to reinstall your plugins. Depending on what they are, they may not work but you won’t know till you try.
It’s like anything, there is a risk involved but if you backup and save forst you can always go back to your current setup ??
    Good luck…

I think I will use Exhibit since it works with 1.2.1. I was going to use RumGallery but it is only a 1.3 plugin. The current 1.3 is doing bad things so I went back.
No big deal – thanks for all the answers

Create a test site and mess about with it. If everything looks fine, then you can move it over to your production site…that said, you are already aware that some things may not make it to the final release, so there is always a small amount of risk there.
